SNAKE:BYTE v1.1.0 patch released


Hello,

Thank you so much to every one of you who's played Snake:Byte this past month and a bit. We've been quietly working on a (hopefully) final bugfixing patch... and added a small but oft-requested feature to the game:


A Free Play Mode is now unlocked for reaching 'Ending 05 Escape'. You'll need to reach it again to unlock it, but using prior saves before the IZ fight SHOULD work.

v1.1.0 patch notes

- Added special cosmetic rewards for completing the game on NORMAL and HARD modes. 

  - Completing the game on HARD will unlock NORMAL rewards as well. 

  - NOTE! You will have to complete the game again in order to unlock this mode due to missing game completion persistent switches. Defeating IZ on an older save should work.

- Added a 'Free-Play' mode for completing the game and achieving the 'ESCAPE' ending. Access this via starting a new game. 

  - NOTE! You will have to complete the game again in order to unlock this mode due to missing game completion persistent switches. Defeating IZ on an older save should work.

- Added new 'Game-Over' scenes to all three HIGH-SEC enemies (GHO5T, KWK, Huntress).

- Added marking text visuals to player portrait for better clarity as to what has been applied. 

- Added targeting / range guide for MARS and KVS suits. 

- Added event spawn location resetter to prevent enemies from being stuck in an incorrect walk route due to route resetting after the player respawns, but without a reset in enemy positioning. 

- Added a Byte Penalty system in Hard Mode if players revisit prior regions when a newer one is available.

  - 40% of collected bytes are deducted when you exit the intrusion. 

- Updated CORE-equip UI and enabled selection of previous CORE versions. 

- Updated difficulty selection screen.

- Intro title-card can now be skipped upon pressing 'INTERACT'. 

- Adjusted visuals of TY'R core to better reflect marking / effects beneath. 

- Adjusted GHO5T's speed to be faster in Hard Mode. 

- Adjusted marking removal no-funding text to require an input to continue. 

- Adjusted TYR suit to use correct breast colour if also affected by C.FRAME marking.

- Simplified unlock condition for  SNAVL note section of the CODEX. Getting caught by an enemy will grant players the CODEX entry. 

- Adjusted marking system to now apply markings of all enemies that you've been attacked by once in a single Intrusion if kicked out. 

  - This will allow, at a base HP of 99, for a total of 3 markings to be applied if you are forced out of an intrusion. 

- Removed remaining visual indicators of KWK underground spawns in Region 02.

- Removed description line in TY'R core mentioning it not preventing markings from being applied (it does). 

- Fixed player-chosen ending 01 from repeating redundant dialogue. 

- Fixed Bounties not appearing on the interfacer chair on the morning of their unlock. 

- Fixed enemy scenes in the gallery not correctly ignoring markings if already applied on the player. 

  - For scenes where there aren't supposed to be any markings applied. 

- Fixed flashing portrait images in Marking Removal service window when the player doesn't have enough bytes. 

- Fixed SYPHONER defeat not granting you the SYPHONER marking. 

  - it should still grant you the Breast + / ++ marking. 

- Fixed enemies in BOUNTY REGIONS not being affected by player projectiles such as from the KVS suit. 

  - This was because BOUNTY REGION enemies were missing projectile-hit tags. 

- Fixed bug where defeating enemies would prevent the player from also collecting a log if the respective CODEX entry was filled.

- Fixed bug where removing SYPHONER / A.FRAME markings caused breast size / thigh size to also go down by one.  

- Fixed 'Cooldown' visual text being stuck on the screen if teleporting whilst using the BOOST core. 

  - Caused by ability activation and cooldown-timer overlap, causing the cooldown amount to be stuck at 1 instead of 0. 

- Fixed vac-wall enemies forcing a return to spawn TP when the charm suit is equipped. 

  - This caused other enemies to force a TP under similar circumstances as the TP-Spawn switch was not reset. 

- Fixed WorkSPY enemies not being affected by BOOST attacks. 

  - This was due to the events not having 'player touch' interactions enabled. Note, touching the WorkSpy units will now trigger a capture.

- Fixed WorkSPY enemies causing an infinite loop when defeated by a KVS PUNCH. 

  - Missing self-switch activation in the hit event. 

- Fixed instances of player being stuck in their cloak visual after defeating the BASILISK.

- Various formatting fixes.

I only wished the escape ending had a better ending card and some dialogue. There is potential setup in the first ending of the game that could have been reflected back in the escape ending. The budget for accepting the offer could have been spent on fleshing out the escape ending more, but alas it wasn't meant to be I guess. Still a wonderful that had me on the edge of my seat towards the end, which was why the escape ending was sort of a letdown for me.

Absolutely brilliant! I know we were asking for an endless mode but we weren't expecting the extra HUD layout, skins and game over scenes!

Wow, is that a reference to the ending where she voluntarily accepts the offer to join the company? Cool!
