how many green apples are there in the game? and are there anything special once you collect all of them?

There's 10 green apples in this build. If you find them all, you'll get a little vanity prize (and maybe some good vibes too~).

At present, I only see three。3/10 get√

Experiencing an error at the launching and starting of the game (MacOS) the error shows up after I select whether the character will make noise at the start of the game, no matter which option I choose it comes up with "unknown error

Error: ERORFS: read-only file system open '(long ass file name)' how do I fix this

Nvm found solution based off of previous question

Hello!

After leaving the forest and exploring that abandoned settlement on that kind of "peninsula" or cliff in the north, an arid zone, and finding Red (the veteran dragon) there, doesn't the game have more content after that? I'm going back to all the places I went but can't find a way to continue the game. On this website I see screenshots that I haven't seen yet so I assume there are more things to see... but where do I have to go to move forward?

Go check out the other building at the abandoned settlement and look for a bundle of rope. You can use that to descend into a cave somewhere nearby.

(2 edits)

You know? Of course I found that abandoned campsite with the hole, I investigated it right after leaving the forest and then right after finding the rope in the first building I dropped everything to go immediately to see if I could descend... but the game didn't allowed me. Then I went to enter the second building and at that moment I met Red. I guess now that the game was programmed so that the rope thing would only be enabled after the encounter with Red.
I just tried again now that I read your answer and indeed the option to descend has appeared. Thanks for responding and sorry if I bothered you ;D

PS: All this mind control and gelatinous beings, or slime, have you played Changed (DragonSnow)? :3
But it's good that this one does show NSFW content, unlike Changed that tempts you and caresses the subject but never really gets into it... it's as if Changed seduces you with the idea but always leaves you wanting to do the thing.

Can i ask what is the synthesis cauldron? And there is something like a statue in the tranquill pathway that has the description "a series of stone-like blocks". Is there anything special about it?

It's an item that allows you to combine items into something new.

where is it though?

It's given to you by a merchant in a tent, on the far side of the slug nest you travelled through during a previous quest.

Make your way back to the slug nest and just keep following the path. You'll find a way through it, back up to the surface, and the merchant will be nearby.

do you mean to get caught by the slug again to enter the slug nest? But then it teleports me to the water srping again. Or it seems like i forgot how to enter the slug nest proberly...I need help.

No, don't get caught by the slugs.

The slug nest is in the jungle. You visited it before as part of a quest. From the jungle campsite, go to the right and climb up the vines to the new area. Then go all the way to the north-west (top-left) of this area and jump up a ledge.

Then proceed down a hole and you'll be in the slug nest. Make your way to the far side of the slug nest and you'll find a way out. The merchant is on the other side.

(1 edit)

I dunno if I did something wrong but I just got told to go see the Auxiliary Commander in the main settlement but he's not there. If I go into the building I get dialogue from him for looking at the door but he's still not actually there to talk to, and I can't teleport anywhere or go anywhere else except to the new part of the camp

I did mess with the bananas before I was told to talk to the Aux Commander I wonder if that borked things

Are you playing the most recent version, v0.308? I believe this issue has been patched.

After updating my most recent save didn't work, but I had a save from before I messed with the bananas and the Commander showed up so no more issues

how can i get backup link?

Why do you need a backup link? Are you having issues with one of the download links?

In the process of removing the virus, some files were deleted, because they were also deleted at that time.

I can assure you there is no virus in our downloads, as long as you are downloading the game here from this site.

Please grant your game permission to download our game without running any kind of security or virus removal on it. The download should complete and the game should be completely playable.

ok i'll try it

why i cannot find the slime farmer?

(+1)

If you never visited the area during your first journey through the forest, it won't appear.

Oh, What a fantastic Easter egg!So this is the use of that pump, I should have known it... What are those purple carrots used for?

Well, seems Grove need to fall deep but not to be deeply fallen.

No use for the purple carrots at this time!

I cant leave the dessert area

pls can someone explain why the light says a sandstorm makes it impossible ??

(+1)

...that means a sandstorm is there, and it's impassable, and you can't go that way yet. Should be pretty obvious.

You need to go somewhere else for now until you get the right protective equipment to be able to enter the desert.

If you're already in the desert area, your goal is in the north-east, down some stairs.

Thanks SirIzike

Hello! Please tell me how to get through the desert. Wherever I go, I die all the time. The only place I can run to is the slime pit on the left. And there's still death. From the previous comments, I learned that it is possible to cool in the shadows and lowlands, but this does not work for me. Game version 0.308 rus. The game is very cool.

Your destination is in the north-east, down some stairs. Make sure to duck into some shade if you're getting overheated. Look for houses, dark valleys, holes in the ground, etc.

Thank you! I solved the problem.

Is there any possibility for and android version ?

I use Joiplay to run the pc version on my android, seems to work well so far

How

download the app "Joiplay" and then download the pc version of the game. Then extract it in your downloads folder, then use joiplay to open it, and it should run. I've had a couple lil issues here and there, but otherwise works great.

For the life of me, I cannot escape the full moth bindings in the windmill. I see the arrows and manage to start beating my way out, but 7 seconds is not enough time for me. I have noticed that diagonal directions are a bit tricky in this game. Jumping diagonally from rock to rock in the jungle, for example.

Never mind! I figured it out! Very clever, haha! :3

I dont know which scene is getting trapped in batcave.I'm trying to unlock the scene:  "Trapped with seemingly no way out... a resident offers you an enticing, sensual deal". Can you help me? I've been playing the finding purple crystal quest many times to get to the batcave but am I missing anything?

Also about the "sticky slug egg", ive managed to collect it. I know why i missed it before, "grove" keep moving to the left eventhough im clicking on the egg and the chest. But the keyboard still work. How to use the egg though? I see it mention the wizard but when i spoke to him he said nothing interesting.

One more thing, I dont know what i did before but I randomly collect a bun and put it in the pocket, on the table. It's a really cute bun. But sadly i mess up with grove launcher (i was moving it to another folder so it didnt launch correctly) resulting deleted the game and redownload. Now i dont know how to get the bun back. And if it will appear in future like art gallery.

(+1)

For the bat cave scene you're missing, proceed through the cave until you reach the area with the purple mineral. The gate will lock behind you and a bat will appear. Talk to him through the bars and accept his offer.

The sticky slug egg is used for crafting with the synthesis cauldron.

The bun you found is in a secret tunnel in the valley. You need to get it before completing the desert temple, or you won't be able to acquire it.

(1 edit)

Thank you for your response. Ive already get the slug egg in one of my savings. But do i need to continue from that save to the end again to keep the slug egg, is it important? I do want to keep it though.  Where is synthesis cauldron? i'm also missing the middle armor (the one next to mercenary plate and dust covers) and i have no clue where to get it.

Thanks to your previous reply, i was able to unlock all scene. Now i just need to work on the items ^^.  I wonder how many items that you can able to equip on yourself like the undergarment (is the mummy wrap gonna be an equipable item?).

In my personal pocket space there's nothing except to modify tool and the pet. Look kinda sad so can u give me hints once again?

Thank you very much!

(+1)
Hello! There's a scene I'm missing in the art gallery and I'd like some help with it:
It says "You find yourself entering a path... and pestering a newcomer and his tent. Suddenly, your corruption flares up"
(+1)(-1)

With 10 corruption points, go to the mercenary commander's tent to the left / west of the Inn. Interact with the entrance a few times, and this scene will occur.

Naturally, you'll need to do this when the tent is still there (the one with the flag next to it). You might need to go back to a prior save in order to get it, but it'll pop up in the future!

This may be a silly question but do the green apples do anything aside from healing 10 HP? The item text makes me think there is more to them.

(+1)

They are, for now, semi-hidden collectable items! Find 'em all for a vanity prize!

Hello im looking for help on a few Gallery parts :D I finished the entire game, is there some i cant get anymore?

SPOILERS FOR THE GAME

Forest: "There is a puddle of green slime sticking to the top of this Memory... You see Visions of a distant cliffside lake and an overbearing black  thong on your groin.

Cave: This chest is sealed with a thin layer of red slime...You see visions of a trickster chest deep within a cave.... (How can that be? I already have the rong from that chest AND i did the scene)

Bandit: The one with several thick purple restraints, i cant figure that out at all...

Batcave: Trapped, with seemingly no way out i guess thats if you dont blow up the exit?

Misc: Left Purple chest

(+1)

You don't need to start an entire new playthrough to unlock these scenes you missed! If you have save files from earlier in the game, you can load them up and find these missing scenes in the 'past', and then go to your gallery in the future and they'll be unlocked!

Forest: Whilst wearing the 'undergarments' you can get from rescuing somebody in the forest... proceed as far to the east as you can.

Cave: For that scene, you need to trigger the chest trap, witness the 'scene', and then win the subsequent battle!

Bandit: I think this one is just getting kidnapped by the bandits? Lose a fight to them, do the short little escape sequence and reclaim your gear.

Batcave: When you reach the room with the mineral and get locked in... go talk to the person who trapped you through the bars, and accept their offer.

Misc: I am afraid I can't help if you can't share the hint...

Deleted 83 days ago

The 'sticky slug egg' can be found in the slug den, after you have defeated the boss enemy. It's on the floor, near the chest.

Kind of stuck in the explore the forest mission. I exited the slug cave and talked to the merchant guy but I don't know where to go next.

Head back into the slug nest, and look for a way to proceed downwards... look carefully, pay attention to the walls and floor, and you'll find the path.

(1 edit)

Gotcha! I managed to find it, thank you so much!

Happy to help :)

hello just wondering about something, when i go appraise some items to the wizard's brother shop a number appears before the next line of dialogue, what does it mean , is it a secret ?

Also what does the slug egg do ? is it like a future pet or something ?

For now, the slug egg is used for crafting!

Not sure about a number appearing in Bizz's  appraisal dialogue... are you playing one of the translated versions of the game? It might be some kind of small error.

I think it might be an error then because i am playing the 0.308 version, the original, thanks for the answer.

i dont know if you want to have the bugs reported or not but i just wanted to point out that when you fight the snake in the gallery and lose , it gives a real gameover, like send you back to the menu gameover, i dont know if it was just a bug on my part but i just wanted to say it.

also should i give the numbers just in case ?

If you can share a screenshot of the dialogue, showing the "number" popping up, that would be useful.

And we'll look into the snake fight gallery issue, thank you for the report!

when I opened it, it show this error,

Failed to load: js/plugins/SRD_SuperToolsEngine.js

how can i fix it ?

(1 edit)

"Failed to load" would imply either some kind of issue with either your download or the game startup...

We've been having a handful of reports in the past few days of curious error messages like yours, ones we've not seen before, that mention things failing to load or things being 'broken'. Not to deflect blame but... it SEEMS like itch.io's servers might be a little bit wonky lately and causing errors and corrupted file downloads, because we've never had any of these issues pop up before.

My best recommendation for you for now would be to redownload the game and try again. And to babysit the download and make sure it doesn't oddly pause or skip or anything in the process.
We'll look into it on our end and see if maybe something has somehow ended up being corrupted.

Do you mind telling us what OS you're running Grove on? If it's on Windows, this is quite unusual but could be due to your computer permissions not allowing the game to load all files, the unzipping corrupting the game version, or the download not completing properly

(2 edits)

I'm using Windows 11, then I'd check my computer permissions or redownload, thanks for replying.

I've sovled problem, is was RAV Antivirus isolate that code, when I remove the RAV Antivirus, finaly successful running.

would love to play this but before i start playing it will ask about voice. no matter what one i click the game says "Unknown Error" and then a file name

"Error: EROFS: read-only file system, open '/private/ver/folders/yt/_5vfgq2s31n9hh__553bd0b80000gn/T/AppTranslocation/EC5F1831-E8BA-43C2-B70A7A3E702D0B60/d/GROVE.app"

this is the mac version. This game looks great i will wait for the fixes and keep an eye out for when i can play or get windows whatever comes first lol

Hmm, we've had a few errors like that occur in the past 'Read-only', and that's been solved by making sure you've extracted the game before playing

Do you mind double checking if you've followed these steps?

Extract (using extractor or a similar tool) the Zip file, and drag the 'GROVE' app into your applications folder.

If a developer verification error appears when attempting to run the game, follow these steps:

1. Open 'System Preferences'

2. Go to 'Security and Privacy'

3. Go to the 'General' tab, then at the bottom (above the lock), grant an exception for the 'GROVE' app and click 'Open Anyway'

Thank you! got it working! Only had to move it into my applications. I did not need to give it any exceptions. Thank you again. you were a big help

(1 edit)

I've been playing the game for few days and i really enjoy it. I opened the art gallery. There are many scences i'm missing though. The scences that are locked say:

1. You see a vision of a distant cliffside lake and over bearing blackthong on your groin.

2. You see visions of a trickster chest deep within a cave.

3. Trapped with seemingly no way out... a resident offers you an enticing, sensual deal

4. Hearing a cry for help, you rush into your first encounter

5. This memory shows a particular slimy green cast.... close to a certain forge

6. The sun begin to set. A big burly blacksmith.... and a small, slender,.... and equally pent-up companion, intermingling within the warm confines of the forge.

I see the moon dust in the item but dont know what it for? I also dont know how to unlock the middle amor.

Really appreciated if you would reply to my comment. I dont mind playing the game from the start just to get those scences, to say how much i like the game. Hope you can give some tips, guides or hints. Kinda sad reading comments saying it takes long time for content updates, yet really good work. Thanks for reading!

I can say that you don't need to restart the game to unlock these scenes. You can return to prior saves in order to get the ones you missed, and they'll appear in your gallery in the 'future'!

That being said, all but two of these are quite early in the game. Since I don't REALLY enjoy just telling people every one, as exploration is a big part of Grove... I'll just give you some hints for now.

1, 2, 4 and 5 are all unlocked BEFORE you rescue the blacksmith from the slime cave. Try exploring around more, putting on certain things... or losing particular battles.

3 and 6 are right near the end of the game, and also close together. If you have a save game in the 'mine quest' you can get both of these... pay attention to when somebody traps you in a room... and go visit the blacksmith after you finish.

Hope that helps.

Wow thank you very much!! Now i know that, i'll try to explore more. Though can i have 1 more question? I saw people mention "sticky slug egg", so if i pick it up in one of my previous savings, will it appear in the 'future' just like gallery? Thanks again for the hints.

The slug egg will not appear in the future, no. It's a single-use crafting item for now.

Otherwise, you're welcome, and good luck finding the missing scenes!

What kind of art?

If you're referring to images from the game itself, please do not share them here or anywhere else. We don't want to spoil things for people looking in the comments.
The only exception to this rule is if you are having some kind of bug or error message.

If you're referring to some kind of fanart or outside art inspired by the game, it can be shown here, or linked to if you have a Twitter account or other exterior gallery.

I just love the way you guy have responded almost every comments, telling us details and some game functions.
The one behind that screen and his/her team must really love their work to care for us that much.
Knowing that this game is not a "job" as you said, the next big update won't be anytime soon. Yet again I am really looking forward for it.
Love <3

(+1)

Thank you very much for the kind, personal comment. We do indeed care about our players, and we want our game to be received and perceived positively.

But yes, this game is not our job, and it's just two people working on it.. so the next update will take some time as we handle obligations like work and studies. We appreciate your patience a great deal.

What is the program/app you used for making Grove? is it possible to get it for free?

(+1)

We use RPG Maker MV to make Grove. It can be purchased via Steam if you wish, but it's not free.

Deleted 83 days ago

The "sticky slug egg" isn't found by defeating enemies. It's an item you pick up from the ground, in the depths of the nest... though after you complete the quest, it might have vanished.

I can't comment on lore and plot speculation as that would potentially spoil things, I'm afraid. But we do appreciate the interest in such.

Deleted 83 days ago

1. Hopefully, yes.

2. We don't intent to post any spoilers ourselves.

3. The "sticky slug egg" can be found deep in the slug nest.

4. The pet is intended to be a cosmetic, non-combat follower, just for fun.

5. The red merchant's items are mostly jokes, but some of them can be taken to your room at the inn and used in the 'personal pocket dimension'.

6. I don't know what "bundles" are.

Deleted 83 days ago

Ah, it's a slight mistranslation. It should be "bondage".

This is where you can check the status of enemy bondages and things forced upon you, like the slime suits or mummy wrappings.

Deleted 83 days ago

That's correct, yes.

I got stuck at the side delivery quest :( I only need to deliver 1 last item but i don't know where the recipient is

Check your Key Items in the menu (press Esc.). The item descriptions explain who they are to be delivered to, and where they can be found!

Thanks a lot !

Deleted 83 days ago

"Hardened Slug Secretion" is for crafting. The "markerless key" doesn't currently have a use.

There's no way to open that particular door you mentioned... yet.

Yes, women do exist in this game. There's three who are mentioned in the game, once of which you can "see".

I can't answer your other questions, because it would spoil things.

(translated) First, try to accumulate 100 TP and put on those very panties, spend no more than 40 on magic (I recommend two blades (it seems to be called that)), then introduce yourself (recommended with full armor, so that after the introduction the sexual attacks would be strong, and of course the sexual attacks .

Months? Jeez... I can't tell if you're persistent or stubborn.

But if you haven't been able to figure it out in all this time, the best way of fighting them is to Present Yourself... and when they start grappling with you, try and "Resist" at the right time.

Pay attention to the dialogue, and to the enemy image... and you should be able to figure out when the right time to Resist is.
Do this repeatedly, and you'll eventually be able to beat him.

(1 edit)

Hello, i have a question.
So, in a save i have gotten past the area with the slime suit enemies.
After i beat the boss in the area and saved the person from the slime suit, I was sent back to the hotel with people now living there. I couldnt figure out where to go after that. After i get there, what do i do?

You should talk with the people around the Quiet Meadow area. They should give you an idea of where to go, and who to talk to: especially the person you rescued from the slime caves, and the innkeeper.

There isn't really any puzzle or anything. Just talk to the people, pay attention to what they say, and they should give you a key. The place to use it is all the way down in the bottom-right.

Hey, Grove Devs! I'm a long-time fan and (albeit stumped, very content) completionist who just played through the recent public release build for the first time since 2021 (I'm pretty sure it's been that long, lol) and I just wanted to give a little bit of end-of-game feedback.

First of all, you guys never fail to disappoint!! Not once!! Even for as unfinished as the current release is, story-wise and feature-wise rn, Grove is definitely one of my top 3 NSFW games of all time and you guys, your storytelling, and game design will always hold a spot in my heart until the end of time.

Besides me being a kiss-ass, I did want to let you guys know about some stuff that other people probably already told you about or suggested, though I'll run through it real quick just to be sure.

I think I did find a few bugs, none of which game-breaking: I noticed that in the combat scenes with the moth dude there's a somewhat-noticeable sprite issue with Grove's bondage mitts, that being Grove's left hand phasing through the mitt sprite while he's still wearing them. I'm sure a ton of people already said something about it though due to how visible it was lol and another thing that I noticed (that was probably user-error) was that after one of the auxiliary missions, a few text boxes say something to the tune of 'since you did more than the bare minimum, make sure to talk to the desert dragon (whose name escapes me as I write all this) to get a bonus'. As a bit of a dimwit, I probably misinterpreted what they meant or collected the bonus and didn't notice but I had interacted with the aforementioned dragon every possible interval after I got those notices and as far as I'm aware I didn't get whatever bonus it was talking about. Could definitely be user-error or miscommunication but better I make a note of it and potentially have it cleared up than let it get forgotten and have it be a problem that nobody saw, y'know? Just in case. Lastly, I had a consistent issue with the gallery that I'll expound more on when I leave some smooth-brain suggestions later. The meat of the issue, though, was that I went through the game on a grand total of 17 different saves, saving every few minutes (probably not the best idea for stability, though I had NO idea there'd be a gallery at all waiting for me at the end so I used the saves to bookmark oame overs that were unique lol and also I'm a total save-scummer) and upon reaching the end and entering the gallery, I was locked out of a lot of content I was SURE I had seen before. Unluckily for myself, I didn't save before a few of the encounters I had been mistakenly locked out of too so I suppose the only way to see 'em would be to play through again lol (not that I'm complaining, just wish I could use the whole gallery at once since I finished, y'know? Kinda nitpicky but could also be bug-related so I figured I should touch on it even if I could see what I missed by going thru again). More on that with suggestions.

Now I'm no game developer and I'm certainly not anybody important but I've been through Grove twice over the span of 3 years and I figure if I don't toss some suggestions at you guys then I wouldn't forgive myself. Take these at face value and know I'm just tryna give some insight, not demand anything like a douche; whether you guys even think about them is up to you and considering you guys are actual game devs you definitely know if these are plausible, worth considering/adding at all, or if they defeat the point of other mechanics. Anyway:

  • A quit button on the title screen. Pretty self-explanatory but I always feel like I'm gonna brick a save if I alt+f4 out of the game whether I'm in combat or somewhere completely normal to exit lol. Just quality of life/paranoia stuff. Also I, as someone who gets game overs a lot, really appreciate the f5 functionality. That knocks time out of skipping through accidental game overs with esc way more bearable.
  • More oddities? I only found I think 2 as far as I remember: the obvious latex underwear and the slave garb (and I know I missed something slime-related one thanks to the gallery but I don't know where it was! Grrr...). I think it'd make for a lot of cool scenes with the wizard and Grove himself  and could give a bit of life to some one-time-visit areas or backtrack factor for areas you've already been to. Not to mention it wouldn't take a ton of asset work considering it would never need to be any more than a sprite or two, some dialogue, and maybe some cutscenes? Just padding, I guess but considering I MISSED one I'm definitely not one to say anything about padding a game with missable content lmao.
  • I saw someone a few days ago say something about a chapter select, and while that idea isn't the worst in the world (just pretty hard to integrate as an immersive-friendly option), I think a good addition would be a cheat menu that the player could access through the gallery after the story has been completed or with a code, in the options menu on the title screen, etc. Obviously this would function better as a dev tool but the player could select the start of a "chapter", give Grove any gear be it wearable, key items, consumables, weapons, etc. (even when/where they aren't supposed to have them) and enter encounters as if it were the first time again. This could also be used to unlock any parts of the gallery that bugs potentially lock the player out of (or, alternatively, could be used to go back to the parts of the game that the player missed to complete an unfinished gallery thanks to save issues or just having missed them by user error to view that scene and unlock it in the gallery). Obviously this would make a TON of bugs, errors, etc. so it should only be used as a last resort for completionism regarding stuff the player had missed due to game issues, for game-breaking/testing purposes, or just for fun with great care taken to not save a broken state. Just standard "use at your own risk" stuff lol, not for standard playthroughs.  A trimmed-down version of such a cheat menu is already sort-of integrated in the form of the little stone dragon head delivered to Grove by the mailman that's stored in the pocket space, though it's obviously just to restore any exp gain lost by upgrading to a newer version. Just a thought that might make seeing everything easier, and since the gallery doesn't disclose when locked events take place, making it impossible to pinpoint when to go back to in your *vast library of saves* (and there's no wiki), we could at least either cheat our way back in time or just unlock the scenes if we're impatient, horny, or curious.
  • As opposed to the cheat menu, and perhaps this already exists and mine was just bugged, but a gallery that sources unlocked events from all saves like a checklist that once an event is marked as completed, you can view it even if the save is overwrote, bugged, or otherwise deleted. Like a file separate from your saves that just keeps track if stuff was unlocked for the purpose of the gallery that can't be deleted with the saves. Idk, as someone who doesn't understand game design and game engines (this is clearly rpgmaker but I'm also not very knowledgeable on all that at all rip), this just seems like something easy that would make repeat playthroughs and even potentially switches to newer builds easier. Maybe a file you can drag to newer versions of the game that brings your data over? Now i'm just rambling abt stuff that might not even be possible lol. Either way I personally like the cheat menu idea better tbh cus then the player could put themselves exactly where they were with exactly what gear they had, money, etc. by opening both verisons side by side and just matching their data up.
  • Last one I can think of, sort of related to the oddities one, anti-gear. Stuff that you could potentially equip that makes it really easy to lose encounters but could show unique scenes and game overs, give the player extra xp and gold, and maybe even spark some special scenes with non-combative npcs that don't get a lot of screen-time (like the baker, blacksmith's apprentice [my dumbass missed the other blacksmith scene too btw and now im locked out cus idk where it was lmao], guy you save when going looking for oranges, the wizard, etc.). This could be anything from consumables that give you a unique status effect, weapons that have averse effects on Grove, tomes that do similar, and wearables that "modify" Grove in different ways lol. Definitely stuff for future builds and maybe even potential for new game+

I'm sure I could dream up another bunch of garbage to spitball at you guys but I've definitely dropped a big enough wall of text already. However you guys feel about any of the jargon I've said is perfectly fine and I'm happy enough that you read it! I'm just glad I got to play your AMAZING game and hope I've contributed something back, lol! I'm excited as hell for whatever comes next and wish everyone involved with this game's development the absolute best!!!

tl;dr I LOVE THIS GAME GRAAAH he is literally me

(1 edit)

Certified dumbass here! I just read the page again and saw the completionist's timeline smhhhh I'm so blind. Even tho it's not up to date past the crypt area, it looks like I have a speedrun to get to work on!

Also saw the discord link and while I do apologize for littering your guys' comment section with a ton of suggestions and the like, I kinda hate joining discord servers so mybad lmao

Phew, that's one meaty comment! Thanks for taking the time to type such a beast out, and it's a pleasure to know you seem to enjoy and care about the game so much as to wanna leave such a comment! Much appreciated!

OK, I'll do my best to tackle all your points... let's go:

First thing's first, can you confirm that you're playing the most recent updated version, v0.308?
I can't say anyone has mentioned anything regarding visuals errors in the Moonlight Abductor's scenes. We can look into it though.
Regarding the "bonus" from the orange quest, that takes the form of a tasty snack later that gives a Max HP bonus, should you accept the Auxiliary Commander's offer to visit his office (and are friendly enough with him that he offers in the first place).

Regarding gallery scenes not unlocking: one potential issue is not seeing them through in their entirety, quitting out before they end.  That or... maybe you are just mistaken about the hints.
I can tell you though that when it comes to the gallery and your suggestion for such, you actually CAN unlock scenes you missed using prior saves. That should work just fine, so... you can go back to your prior saves and work on things you missed, using the chest hints!

As for your suggestions:
We can look into a quit button on the title screen, sure. Though I can't say it's exactly a high priority thing for us.

We hope to add more oddities, yes. It's been slightly underused as a system, but as you rightly say it's a lot of work to make art for and balance and whatnot. But yes, something we also feel is a bit underutilised as a system.

As for "anti-gear", I feel like we actually have a bunch of that? From the slime suit to the cock latcher parasites, the mummy wraps, the cursed black thong...  they're just usually not equipped by player choice.
Maybe you mean you want stuff like this that lasts longer, and isn't something that's restricted to just single areas and scenarios? Right now that's kind of our intent with the Skimpy Armour in that it provides pros and cons... but as for a purely negative handicap, we're a bit hesitant. It'd be a whole other variable to have to balance for the entire game, maybe tweak and adjust art and scenes to accommodate... it'd potentially be a LOT of work, which is why we usually keep 'anti-gear' thematic and restricted to a certain area and bunch of enemies.

Finally... I touched on your request of a persistent save gallery above. We don't want to add a cheat menu into the game though, I'm afraid. The persistent gallery save file unlocks, and the LEVEL / CORRUPTION buddy is about as far as we're willing to go in this matter.
Beyond the reason you mentioned about how it could cause a whole lot of bugs and issues... we'd basically be giving our endorsement to players to make broken builds, cheat and no-brain their way through both the game as it stands, and expect it for all future updates too.
I know SOME people would be fine with that (gamers will optimize all the fun out of a game given half the chance) but it really does fly in the face of the content, the combat, the abilities and battle dynamics, enemy scenarios and unlock routes that we spend hours crafting and balancing for a player's level, to sell a certain mood and in-game intent... as far as we are concerned as devs, cheating makes for a far worse and less enjoyable player experience when you can just invalidate the enemy abilities, or get everything you need without any effort or sense of discovery.
OF COURSE, there are external methods and software that can be used to cheat, for people who are so determined. And we're not going to stop people from doing so if they really want to, there's no anti-cheat systems in the game.
...but WE, as Devs, don't want to endorse this kind of thing with an official cheat system and throw the doors open to everyone.

Right, I think that's everything! No worries about the Discord thing or missing the 'completionist's timeline' either.

Thanks for playing the game through as you have done so far! Hopefully you can make use of the persistent save files in order to unlock the stuff you missed, and enjoy the full completion of the game when you finally achieve it!

Holy shit I'm honored you read all that lol

Just checked and though I did have 2 different builds downloaded I was running 0.308, though the sprite bug very well could have been clientside (def is if its not showing up on your guys' end lol)

THANK YOU for telling me I can use persistent saves lol I was so ready to start a whole new run you just saved me from what would have probably been another 4 hours of grinding back to what amounts to like 3 or 4 scenes that i missed (even though I'm totally playing thru again cus i love this game so much lmao)

And yeah I totally see what you're saying abt cheats and whatnot, making it an actual like public feature would 100% do more harm than good if u really think about it like people wouldn't use it for the right reasons at all, knowing how easy it is to use cheap tactics especially in rpgs

looks like i have some more scenes to find!! :)

Good luck, have fun, and hope you find and enjoy those missing scenes!

I have a question because I need help where can I find this whole magic tree which is in the second main guild quest because I search locations and I can't find it if dear creators know where this location is I would be very grateful for help.

The tree is in the jungle, up at the top of the waterfall. It's near where you rescued Kuno (the ranger) from the river, if you remember that?

Head to the jungle campsite, go to the right and up the vines.

this might sound like im asking too much i never programmed a game so no clue how hard this is to do but I wouldant mind if the game had a chapter system of sorts you see befour the dark places update i finished the game and it took me about 4 days of constant playing (not that its a bad thing i enjoyd the game very much) but befour the dark places update got released i had to reset my pc which lost me all the progress which will probably take 4 more days to regain and even though as i said that i did enjoy the game doing the same thing all over again will probably be very tedious to do and either way adding a chapter system will probably be usefull to players who missed a scene or special items (not trying to push the creator to do this just beacuse of my own invonvinience just wanted to make an observation) ps:sorry if some stuff are a bit misspelled english isnt my mother language and ty for reading this even though its a bit of a wall of text LOL

For an RPG like this, a "chapter select" isn't really the best solution. We'd have to settle on a particular level, inventory, corruption, scenes unlocked, and all manner of other variables.

Some people would no doubt complain they don't have enough money or items. Some people might want to have all the scenes unlocked, and if we did that it'd take away the impetus to actually play through the older parts of the game...

I understand the frustration of losing your saves, especially given that it's quite a long game... but I don't think we'd ever be able to satisfy everybody, or even most people, with a rigid chapter select system

that is understandable when i sent the comment i thought about it and realised that chapters dont really fit into an rpg type game like grove but thank you for the reply. your probably one of the most quick game creators when it comes to replying to comments which is highly appriciated

You're welcome :)

I love the way the game is going right now, and I can't wait for the next update to see more on what you have in store for the game. Especially cursed items, any that can be converted into usable gear any more info on lore of the land and why some of the people Grove saved has purple eyes (and if the blacksmith will give Grove a little something like he did with his new claim)

We'll do our best to touch upon as many of the features and lore tidbits as possible as we continue to work on new updates. Thanks for the kind and positive words!

when i use my save from the v0.307 on the v0.308 i still have access to the gallery in grove's room and i can't continue the story

It's like i'm stuck at the end of the v307 but with the v308

Other than that the game is amazing xF

Uh, well, did you actually finish the story in your v0.307 save? Did you reach the "thank you for playing" message? What's the last thing you remember actually doing in terms of the game progression?

'cause v0.308 didn't add any new game content, just fixed and tweaked some things.

ho I see well yes i reached the end in my v0.307 save last thing I did was fighting the moonlight abductor and i already did all the quests in the auxiliary division hall

so i guess there's nothing wrong if the v0.308 doesn't continue the story

sorry for the bother and thanks for the help xF

not only the game is an incredible master piece but you're also very kind understanding and patient with us so from the whole community thank you for everything

(+1)

Yeah, no more story in v0.308 I'm afraid. We use 'mainline' number updates when there's new story content, so the next one will be v0.4xx.

Thanks for the kind words regarding the game! And you're welcome for the response, too. Happy to be able to help clear up some confusion, and hope you'll stick around for the next update hopefully somewhen later this year!

where i can find beach

Down the stairs, to the right of the Inn.
