I will be watching this project with great interest~ where will the first demos be available?

(+2)

The full game will be available Saturday July 5th! No demos, just the full and complete game.

Hmmmm Intresting

(+10)(-25)

Why finish one game...when we can have THREE that never get updated? 10/10 paysite methodology. Executed perfectly!

(+7)

well, in its defence, it's a miniproject, and is being used to experiment and work on features that can be used in the main games; just like the gaming industry did back when they were making actual games that were fun, aka 90s-2000s era.

(+6)

Besides bug-fixing patches, this game will be complete on release. We'll be focusing on GROVE once more afterwards, using our learnings from Snake:Byte.

So this one's a quick cash grab and tech experiment, smart. I'm not opposed to such stuff when it's done well, unlike how other companies handle similar things (* cough* E.A. *cough* Activision *cough*) . That being said, mildly curious, what's the financial goal with it?

(+4)

We don't have a set financial goal, like an amount of sales or revenue we'd like to hit. We'd just like for people to give the game a try and hopefully enjoy it and think it was worth their time and purchase :)

...this is subjective of course, but if we just wanted to make a "cash grab", we'd probably not make a female-protagonist game after our previous two gay focused games, haha.

Snake:Byte's a game we wanted to make as devs, and we're grateful for anyone who supports us making our living making games we enjoy.

I mean cash grab in the traditional sense.  I understand that the word has negative connotations. However I would say that realistically if done for the right reasons with the right mindset, there is no problem whatsoever with cash grabs. Actraiser was a cash crab, fallout New Vegas was a cash crab, top gear 3000 was a cash grab, Doom 64 was a cash grab, Dune 2000 was also a cash grab, Castlevania symphony of the night was also a cash crab, and you'll notice that of those games I just mentioned are not only some of my favorites but arguably some of the greatest games ever made. A smaller project that is meant to truly be enjoyed and is actually fun, but has the intention for any funding that comes of it to go towards a main project, is a good cash grab. A bad cash grab is just one that's about getting money for no reason other then to get money, and doesn't even go towards another project or something. It's just there for money grabbing sake.

Regardless of how you feel about the particular words, I've seen you guys a while, and how you guys work on things, and I do not hold you guys in the same regard that would hold somebody like EA, or other vicious or vindictive companies. I might not like everyone on your guys's team, but overall I would say that you guys put a decent product out to market and half the time you don't even demand payment up front. That sort of methodology, is what I like in indie devs, in the sense that clearly everything you do is a passion project and you guys expect that you do it well enough that somebody will just want to give you money so that you continue doing it rather than even charging a price point because you guys truly believe in your passion projects.

How can you compare this to EA OR ACTIVISION?? GOSH. This is a full experience on release, and REALLY GOOD ONE AT THAT. They're asking for 5 USD, FIVE FRICKIN DOLLARS. That's for a game which is filled with custom art and content for an experience that, I'd wager, is going to be worth a little more than the asking price.

It's not a 'cash grab' it's a 'product' which is being 'sold.' That is called a 'transaction' which is the means of exchange which allow awesome creative people like these developers to make MORE awesome games and have the free time to do so. Also, this is clearly a passion project.. This level of quality is far, far above the soulless competition in eroge, I assure you.

Apparently you're f****** illiterate. You can't read beyond one sentence, you just run around and search for miscellaneous words and don't actually f****** understand everything because you're playing f****** word search instead of actually f****** reading s***. You want to say how can I compare something to EA? Why the f*** wouldn't I? If somebody is a genuine f****** bro, that puts a good product out there for a reasonable price, then yeah I'm going to compare them on EA because I love s******* on ea. The best way to s*** on EA is to compare them to people who don't do things the way EA does things. What a stupid f****** hot take. You and the other 10 f****** idiots who can't read, and who can't look at things objectively need to go back to f****** middle school. You know by the time I hit high school there was nothing they could teach me it's about, but to do drugs, but you could probably go back maybe they'll teach you to f****** read.

OK.

(+3)

You clearly haven't been paying attention. This is a one-off fully complete small project. Grove is still free and the only other ongoing project is Prowler which is what Grove alternates with.

If you're going to accuse someone of abandoning projects at least get the facts straight. Crazy embarrassing behavior.
