Sorry if you already know this.

I was able to deliver 20 berries in a pile of berries even though I only had 2. Is this a specification?

It's a bug we're aware of... and is quite a pain in the ass to fix... so for now, please enjoy the many berries to help you through the game!

wait how do u do it tell me I wanna try :D

Max transfer transfers maximum transfer even when maximums wildly exceed available resources. ;p have fun.

I'm so tempted to dive into this after falling in love with Grove. But I was super disappointed with grove not having a satisfying romantic conclusions with the characters you spent the most time with. Before spending money and time on this game I think I would like to know in advance if there's any point becoming enamored with primary character arcs - or is it just mostly enemies that have interesting interactions like in Grove

(1 edit)

For what it's worth, Grove is far from complete and the romances far from 'concluded'. The romances in that game are intended to be story-long relationship building rather than quick sexual flings. Though of course there are moments like that should you lose certain fights...

If that's not your preference for romance, fair enough, but I figured you should know. That is also how we are handling things in Prowler: story-long romances.

(4 edits)

Thank You. I - think that actually answers my question. Sounds like I shouldn't go into this expecting to find anything I didn't find in Grove - which, again I just wanted to know upfront. So far I've been enjoying this almost as much as I did Grove.

But, just to elaborate a little in response to what you said. "If that's not your preference for romance, fair enough"

Quite the contrary, I absolutely adore the style of character & world building I found in Grove. Not sure if I just didn't expect to find a solidly fleshed out world & properly 3 dimensional characters in a lewd scalie fetish game - or, if it was just the right media at the the right time; but, either way I got way over invested in Grove a couple weekends back hahaha.

I'll 'try' to explain this without major spoilers - I'll just need to be a little verbose to avoid specific references. Sorry in advance for the text wall this might turn into.

Right near the current 'conclusion' of Grove there's a point where.. the world/story starts to.. fragment?Optimistically, this is some of what you meant when you said Gove is "far from finished". Conquering new territory shifts from being challenging, feeling earned, and motivating return trips for more thorough exploration toward these smaller rapid-fire spaces (with really interesting stories to tell) but nothing to revisit once they're completed. (Which is fine. For the record. I'm just landmarking what part of the game I'm talking about for what I'm going to say next.)

Then we get these significant character moments, kinda. It's more like each of the central characters had a lead-in towards some satisfying final character interaction - (Note: I'm not talking about something specifically NSFW. I'd like that, but it's not about that.). JUST when it feels like some sort of payoff is coming for many of the characters, you hear of strange happenings at night. Then Tuon, Jaler, & Bosc basically just run out of dialog. Kuno & Commander (Having welcomed the player into private spaces) promptly re-lock their doors & exit stage left. And, this wouldn't matter- except, Grove did such a good job getting me invested in these characters to begin with - it's a little unfortunate it doesn't do anything more with them in the end.

All that's left then is to investigate the aforementioned "night time happenings" which leads directly into credits, and the Grove 2 teaser - which I assumed meant Grove was as complete as it was gunna get. Save for the obvious recent updates to language packs and stuff that is.

But, what you're saying makes sense - and is a bit comforting too as you seem to be involved with/close to the development? It did feel like those final moments were leading towards something, and I guess maybe that something was just incomplete? It would explain why everything seemed to just get unceremoniously dropped right around the same time near the 'end'. If nothing else, I'm glad to hear that, at least sounds like, there's more content planed - and maybe some day I'll come back around to find more satisfying conclusions.

But for now - it seems like I just need to tune my expectations accordingly. These games are genuinely impressive, not just "for a fetish game", or whatever - I mean that in general, there's loads of really well executed & thoughtful game design here, (Especially, IMO, in Grove). That's going to take time. Keep up the good work - and I'll look forward to the results.

In terms of building 'romantic' relationships with NPCs at the very least, Prowler is somewhat similar to Grove. But I would at least like to think -- as the writer for both games -- that the rest of the game's story and content (and definitely gameplay) has some differences to keep it interesting and not just a rehash or "nothing I didn't find in Grove".

Thank you for the praise re. Grove's writing, and your explanation of what happens. All I can say is that the reason the game takes the turn it does regarding NPC interactions is that, ultimately, we're an RPG first and not a Visual Novel, and we don't want the character interactions and relationships that should span the entire game being something you can rush and conclude well before the actual main game's narrative.

So those moments you've described in terms of interactions, they're a bit 'significant', yes, but far from the end. Just a milestone on the way of the overall relationship, which is intended to span the entire game. Prowler works in a similar way, where you can't build relationships past a certain point without continuing in the story.

Hopefully that explains everything to you as well as possible. And if you have taken the plunge and purchased Prowler, we're very grateful for you giving it a go, and as the writer I hope you enjoy the game to a similar degree, even if the content and context is different!

I appreciate this! Makes sense. Thank you for the conformation. And yes, I have picked this one up, and am diving in. I was always going to, I want to see more of the work y'all are doing. This conversation is more about me wanting to set my expectations according as far as what I'll find in games currently and what I should get excited about down the road.

Personally loving the scenes where Kivu's balls are larger~
An issue I've noticed however: When captured by the insects in the swamp, the slimed image seems to be overlayed atop the enlarged-balls image, effectively showing Kivu with two sets of balls; one engulfed in slime, the other large and pink underneath

It's the best.

Thank you for thinking so!

I've encountered a problem where my movement speed is permanently hindered, as if i got caught by an interloper. Is there a way i can fix this?

Not without reverting to a prior save unfortunately. And making sure you've got the game updated to its most recent version.

I don't know where to ask this so I'll do it here. which enemy has the monster bone as a drop? and how do I get the accessory case? I've been searching for a while and can't figure it out :P

//side note//

it would be cool to have a bestiary of sorts so you could check for which drops enemies have and maybe some lore on them 2 :3

nvm abt the case, i found it(yippe!!) but the other stuff i still dont know

Monster Bone can be found in the Savannah, in little piles on the ground. They're pinkish white carcasses found in a few areas.

i found em, thx a lot!

Congrats on making yet another very sexy game. Thoroughly enjoying it!

Thank you!

(1 edit)

Have you guys started work on act 2?

Negative.

will this game be released on steam

No plans at this time.

Deleted 135 days ago

Savannah. They're small, forked trees.

Deleted 135 days ago

and i'm stuck the return to the dusk-prowler camp,he say i lack the experience to travel to this location. but i have searched all the areas...

there is a location in the preceding chief's camp, have you ever enter it? I also get stuck at the beginning till I find the chief's camp

(+1)

You're looking for 'oddities' in the surrounding area. They're small, grey stone things with a blue glow to them.

Make sure to help out the merchant with their quest, to be rewarded with one. Another one can be found in the den of an enemy in the Glistening Stream.

i can't save the...i close the game and reopen it and all my saves are gone.i can only play  it again...

Sounds like you're not extracting the game. You need to extract the game after downloading, or your saves won't remain after closing.

What does the green slab key do? I accidentally clicked past its description & it doesn't say in the pouch menu

You want to take the green slab key to the jungle holding site sub-locale... there's a place it can unlock.

thank you!

太棒了,希望快点有新更新!

I really like your GROVE works! However, will the new Prowler continue to incorporate assimilation or Transfur elements in the future? As a fan of GROVE, I sincerely hope that the new work will have more assimilation elements and optimize the gallery system

(+1)(-1)

Sorry, we don't really comment on specific kinks and content coming to our games...!

But we are very appreciative for you having played and for sharing your thoughts!

It doesn't matter, please keep going! I will support you

(1 edit)

What arrows does the makeshift light bowgun use?

I don't know...

It makes its own ammo supply! Just remember to 'reload' when you first equip it.

(+1)

Hey there awesome game I don't see it mentioned so just a heads up when I fought the Chameleon? first boss when he teleports if he lands on top of you you are stuck and it's basically all over and something similar happen in the swamp boss and interloper boss not sure why but something you might want to look into if teleporting enemies is in the future for the game. Also a quick question after I finally beat the in interloper when asked about translating them I think I remember it saying something about a key? so I restarted the game to see what they said at the beginning and it was still the same symbols and also went to the interloper dungeon in the first area and it said that I can't translate the wall Which i can understand and am guessing that later in the development we might get something for that? and also is the key mentioned used to open anything right now or is that something for later game because I tried to use it to open the door in that dungeon but it said I don't have anything that fits so I looked at all the options and realized I don't have any key. sorry this is so long but last question how do you activate the energy in the interloper camp just a bit before the last dungeon?

(+2)

Holy run-on paragraph, batman...

"Interloper Translation" can be selected and turned on/off by loading your complete game save. You would have been forced by the game to make one when you completed it.

The 'key' is placed in your inventory across all saves. Look in your Pouch > Utility and find the Green Slab Key for a clue.
I can tell you the place you tried putting it is incorrect, though. It goes somewhere else.

Is the key you mean the slab key? because I thought that was used to get the mantle in the swamp.

You  should acquire a Green Slab Key after completing the game.

hm I'll try beating the interloper again but I don't have a green slab key right now would this be a bug or is there a button that i could have pressed by accident that would get rid of it?

It shouldn't be possible to get rid of the Green Slab Key until you use it.

Try defeating the final boss again. Make sure to make a new save file when the game prompts. And then load up an older file, and the Green Slab Key should be in your inventory.

If it isn't, try visiting the Jungle Holding Site sub-locale. There's a locked door somewhere in that location that is opened by the key. Maybe you already have visited that place.

I don't know if I'm stupid or what but I legitimately don't know how to find the Trappers' camp. I assume it's Northeast Swamplands? But I can only fight the two guys and have no idea what I need to put in the stone gate. Is there a secret jump somewhere or maybe a required Exploration level?

(1 edit) (+2)

There is a bridge you can lower with tail spike / ranged attack in the map with two guys.

You are a godsend

(+1)

I died with both of the serrated blades from the matriarch building (lost all inventory), and now I cannot find anymore serrated blades to craft the shears. Is there anything I can do

(+1)

You can find more serrated blade scraps from defeating the serpentfolk (Trappers).

(+1)

I'm curious now that Prowler's first act is released, what is the team's current focus on now? (apart from bug fixes, of course)
Will you guys shift back to Grove, continue onward with Act 2, or are they being focused on equally?

(+2)

Our plan is to shift back to Grove after Prowler is bugfixed and stabilised.

After that, we MAY chose to alternate development between the two games, but we haven't decided that for sure just yet.

I Cannot find the “river caves in the savannah”. i have looked everywhere

It's on one of the entrance maps for the savannah. If you keep visiting, you'll find it. It'll be marked with an arrow when it appears, I believe.

Do you have any hints on how to access the fortress in the savannah? I've explored the swamp a fair bunch and I'm still not sure what I'm supposed to do, and I might be missing something.

You need to complete the questline in the swamp. That means finding the flimsy shears blueprints in the serpentfolks' lair, discovering a corrupted dungeon within the south-west depths of the swamp, and doing renown tasks for the new faction you ally yourself with afterwards.

where can I get stinger chitin?

NVM its rate is lower than the barbs

No matter what I do from this situation, there is no change.

What should I do?

I apologize if the text is strange because I am using machine translation.

Return to your campsite and go to sleep.

When it is morning, Select "Old Prowler Camp" from the "Sub-Locale" menu when you leave camp.

“Sub-Locale” menu not found...

Hmm you need to rescue the merchant's companion first in order to unlock the sub-locale menu. Your exploration experience needs to be above 2 and then you need to rescue the Merchant's companion.

How did you get that task? You shouldn't be able to get it that early

- Regalbuster

(+1)

My current exploration experience is 4, but I have yet to meet a merchant's companion once...

Where can I find a merchant's companion?

This task was obtained after returning from the location pictured.

Have you tried entering the expedition, then leaving immediately?

(+3)

Also, there's an exploit where you can deposit more berries than you have onto the berry pile, so you can just deposit 20 even if you don't have that.

Also, does the gallery work in the same way that I remember Grove's gallery working? such that CG's and enemy encounters in *any save* were accessible from any gallery?

Prowler's Gallery will be completely unlocked when you reach the end of the game, regardless of if you witnessed the scene in gameplay.

Hello! I haven't played in a while, but in my old save (I've started a new one) I had a game-breaking bug involved with a permanent loss in movement speed after getting slime-suited. Was this ever addressed? I'm scared I might get my new file bricked. Couldn't tell if it was explicitly fixed, at least for newer patches.

We have tried our best to fix these issues, but they are "edge cases" so we may not have fixed every cause.

Also, the new updates will not fix your movement speed if you are already slowed. It should PREVENT it from happening AGAIN however.

Really enjoying the game so far.

One suggestion I have is only items that are marked as an ingredient show up in the item selection for the cooking pot.

It would declutter the inventory if it was full of other stuff, making batch cooking more straightforward and making finding new recipes less tedious.

also bulk crafting would be great for arrows and stuff :)

thanks

(+2)(-3)

If I buy this version will I get every update after this one?

I'm really surprised by the adequate content you have made! And I wanna ask would there be something like "gallery" in the future? It's really helpful to check if I have collected all the scenes and to rewatch them.

There is a gallery available at the end of the game that shows off the scenes, even if you have not personally witnessed them in gameplay.

Thanks for answering! I just started playing and am working on finishing the game.

(+1)

It would be even better if each different area had its own "late homecoming" animation!

(+1)

glad to see the game supports more languages, but the current translation is not satisfactory. Is there a plan to recruit translation teams or involve the community in translation?

(+4)

Yes. We have kind volunteer groups working on translations. These machine translations are a 'placeholder'.

We're very sorry that you feel the current translation is unsatisfactory. It is the best we can do as we do not speak the language, but we can assure you that better translations are being worked on!

how do i get the third tool, i have the flimsy pickaxe and the flimsy sheers but what is the last one and how do i find it?

Third tool? I believe there's only those two. Check your crafting guide.

Is there no way to drop/discard items ? Tried about everything and I'm confused as to how are you supposed to get rid of the items you don't need. My chest and inventory is full, am i just locked out of the playing the game now ?

(+2)

Pouch -> Utilities -> Item Burner

(+1)(-2)

...please give us a little credit as developers... do you seriously think we'd make a game where you pick up ten items and then can never pick up any more?

There's even a message that pops up explaining this very mechanic but I guess you glossed over it...

(+1)

No ill intentions, i did start the game few days ago where the text had wrapping issues, so i guess i didn't see it because of it. It would be a bit more intuitive to just add a "drop" button though.

(+3)

I apologise for the bug in that case! A drop feature would be the best case scenario but will be in the works for a while due to engine limitations. We might try to have the prompt appear a little more often

- Regalbuster

Thank you.

(+1)

I hope the maximum limit of bag and storage capacity can be increased, and the stats of enemies can be lowered. The strength of enemies in the second chapter map is much too high. Also, the process of repeatedly gathering resources is a bit too long. It would be great if the resource requirements could be reduced a bit...

(+1)

The maximum limit of the pouch and storage capacity can be increased via upgrades throughout the game.

Remember to actually USE the things you're gathering, to make improved weapons, armour, and cook healing items to help with combat. And know that the best defence is outright avoidance!

Also note that green and blue tonics can be useful to improve movement / dash speed, or increase your capacity for carrying resources.

There's ways and means to make things easier for yourself, so do give them a try!

Congratulations on version 166!

Unfortunately, it's running choppy and doesn't seem to work properly on my AMD core windows 11.

Please make sure you are not playing the game on an external drive, as this can cause performance issues. Try closing background programs, and anything else that may take up computer performance.

Otherwise... I'm sorry, I really don't know what to suggest. We've been trying to find the best performance target for the game, but what works great for some people runs poorly for others. We'll keep investigating but we can't make any promises.

Hi! Played some of the demo and found it amazing and want to buy the game but wanted to ask some questions first.

1. Is the 8.99$ the set price or will it increase as more content is updated?

2. Can you elaborate on the "and a little more..." part of the content warning? I personally don't like surprises and am queasy about blood.

3. Is there/Will there be a roadmap available in the future? If it's on Discord, can you put it here too? If there's none, that's fine.

4. Is there/Will be there be an option to turn up background brightness without brightening the UI too? Especially at night (in-game).

Sorry if you already answered these questions. Thanks in advance :)

(+1)

$8.99 will be the set price for the game. It won't increase as we add more content.

There is no blood or gore in the game. The "little more" includes hypnosis, implied mpreg, but they are only brief moments so we didn't want to get people overly excited for them.

We don't have a roadmap, no. We're two hobbyist developers with day jobs and studies so we can't really commit to such a thing.

There isn't a brightness setting, no, sorry.

Thanks for the answers :)

(+1)

Hello again, just finished to play the act 1 and God, what a game. I higly recomend you all to buy it and play, it was worth even more then the price it is, and also it provides a really good amount of time in playtrough. The early grind is a bit of frustating, but eventualy you get enough materials to reduce a lot this grinding.
About the story, really well written, it is addicting and entertaining, thanks for the amazing game. (can't wait for the next act)

hey, just a quick question. as i read that u completed the part one. would it be possible for u to mail me the save files from your game? As i'm unable to beat the final boss even after 57 tries😭😭😭. my gmail is snehilsinghania@gmail.com

Sorry, I don't know how to find that file I'm not good with stuff like these :(

(+1)(-3)

I liked this game. Would recomend.

Fighting is kinda ok, unless you stuck in some small room with no place to dodge against range enemy, until you meet guys who spam DODGE aka INVINCIBILITY FOR 5 SECONDS LITERALY EVERY 8 SECONDS. Also cooking is too complicated to bother, resource gather at the start is torture and farming at camp provides shit rewards for time invested.

Rest of the game is pretty good.

ps

dev add femboys, thanks you
