Thanks for your effort!
The game is awesome,my first rpg/jrpg,i will remember it!
Also unique struggle battle system

Thank you for playing, and your kind words~!
If you've got the time to give a rating / review, that'd be massively appreciated, but no pressure whatsoever!

(+1)

Ok

0.3 was great, the game feels like it's got the right ratio of gameplay/pictures/text, and the writing avoids becoming too elaborate or showy. A favorite part of mine, spoiler-ish as it is, was the winged fellow later in the game. Grove's title change in the menu after the cutscene was a detail that I really liked.

One suggestion, though I'm not sure if RPGmaker permits, is to have a button for skipping cutscenes and reloading directly. Sometimes an enemy literally kicks your ass into submission repeatedly and getting out of it takes a while.

A skip is certainly something we could look into in the future, sure! Thanks for playing!

(Ps, Glad you noticed and enjoyed the role / class changes in the menu~ something a little subtle, but we thought it definitely did add a bit of extra spice)

-RegalBuster

I realised the Water Grappler is missing the scene when you have a Cock Latcher on you. Also, awesome update! One of the most anticipated and definitely worthy one.

Currently there is no scene planned for the latcher and the grappler. Thanks for playing!

-RegalBuster

a nice game

How do you pronounces Jaler's name? is the J silent, like Juan?

Jal- er

-RegalBuster

I love this update, it's spicy (although i still want more scenes with rinnal and tuon they are my favorites) and honestly got jelous of the bat, we're here first but he got serviced first by tuon. Although now i don't know where the cauldron is, i kept losing the coin flip, and i can't invite the orange burly dragon back to camp, but other than that, this update feels nice and make me feel closer to the characters and can't wait for the next one (also that last part when we're peeking on tuon is an amazing touch)

The cauldron can be found in a merchant's tent on the far side of the slug nest.
You can get back there by teleporting to the 'jungle campsite', going right and up the vines. From there, go to the top-LEFT and use the Jump Sigil to climb up the cliff.
Go through the slug den to the other side. There's a place you can climb out, and the tent is a short walk from there!

Made an account here to say thanks to the Grove team, wishing the best for the upcoming years! I had loads of fun with the new content in 0.3, and excited for future versions!

(+1)

Thanks a lot for making an account just to drop us a kind comment, that means a lot! If you've got a minute to spare, an itch.io rating would really make our day too!

Otherwise, cheers for playing through the game, and hope we can keep your interest for the future!

Just finished the game Great work by the way in the gallery there are still some locked chests do I have to do something to unlock those or is that for a future update

Any locked chests in the gallery can be unlocked! Pay attention to their hints and use your brain, and I'm sure you can figure them out!

You might need to go back to an older save to unlock some of them, but they'll show up in your gallery in the future, so you don't need to start an entirely new game!

Hey there, what's the deal with nightmares? Do they only come with higher corruption, or are they purely RNG?

(+1)

You're correct on both accounts.

Dear Grove Team;

First of all: Great Game!
I just want to know if its possible to give players the ability to skip certain sections... i have played through the entire game, saved often as recommended, updated the game and lost all of my progress.... Kinda bummed out because i hate replaying games

(-1)

Uh, if you updated, you can transfer your saves across! There's a save file transfer guide in the download! If your saves aren't showing up and you DID do that, try this:

Move all the existing saves out of that folder, open up the game and start a new game, make a few save slots, enough to accommodate all your files, exit the game, then replace the new saves with the existing ones you want to import.

Could someone please give a hint on how to beat the plant boss? I'm stuck.

Make sure to cleanse yourself using the buckets around the nearby forest before you fight.

Otherwise it's kind of just an endurance match. Make sure you're healthy as you can be when you start the fight. Try and pay attention to the enemy's attacks, as sometimes it becomes resilient to specific things and you might waste your resources.

Besides that just try and use all your skills, use your items, don't hold back. There's no specific strategy, it's just an endurance match really.

Hi, first of all congratulations for this new update, the new content is very good, I really liked the advances to the story and the new characters that were added.

At this moment I have a question about a certain part of the story, I just saw the cinematic of the blacksmith and the chastity cage (by the way, I loved it!, and I hope that soon something like that can be equipped on the protagonist)

And I got to the moment where they ask me to go to the mill, but as soon as I go up to check, a cinematic starts which automatically turns into "game over", please, could you tell me what I have to do?

I've been wandering around for many minutes and I can't find anything to do and it doesn't let me sleep and skip the night either.

When you get grabbed, pay close attention to the visuals. See the pink symbols that appear... don't they look like arrows...?
I'm sure you can figure out the rest!

Otherwise, thanks a lot for the positive review! We're not gonna spoil any future content, but we hope you can still care to rejoin us in the future when the next update arrives!

(1 edit)

how to unlock secret new outfit, got couldrun and ingreediants and everything, wizz just says you dont need it yet,

p.s. found the the reference there, "just an observation..."

The outfit in the Synthesis menu is just the skimpy garments. If you're getting that message, that just means you already have it!

- RegalBuster

Hello! I have a question.
I don't know how to escape from the "amongst the roots" mini quest. I knocked down the boss and went to both the outside of the tree and the well cave,
I don't know how to get out. Please help me. (ㅠㅡㅜ)

To exit, go into the hole in the wall behind the boss, keep going down until you reach the well cave, then go to the far left where the light is shining down. There should be a transition tile there!

- RegalBuster

OMG!

The light is so bright that I didn't see the tiles.

Thank you so much!

Just finished the update and it was awesome.

I love all new the new encounters and character moments. The coin-game got a bit frustrating with my notorious bad luck, but besides that I have nothing negative to say.

Now I just hope that the timeline updates soon, so I can make sure that I didn't miss anything. Keep up the good work :D

(+1)

The timeline is made by Qazm, a fellow player of the game. It'll take him a while to volunteer his time to finish the timeline, so you will have to be patient! Thanks for playing~.

- RegalBuster

(+1)

https://qazm.itch.io/a-grove-timeline/devlog/477590/v03-update-plans
Here ya go, here's his words on the matter~

And thanks for your kind, positive review of the game!

Out of curiosity, how does one unlock the full gallery if you were to miss an event? I presume going back to some places could work but in the case of the mine quest would I have to go back and redo that entire mission for the last scene?

Question aside I've been loving this game from start to wherever we are in the development cycle and eagerly await the next chapter whenever it's ready <3

(+2)

You'll have to go back to a prior save, yes... buuuuuut, there is a system in place where things unlocked on old saves will pop up in your gallery in future saves! No need to entirely replay the game!

Thanks so much for the compliments and the encouragement otherwise! If you can take the time to drop us a rating that'd be super appreciated too, but no pressure~

Otherwise, thanks again for playing, and hope to see ya next time!

(+1)

Ah, bit of a shame in that regard. Oh well, just means it encourages multiple playthroughs!

I rejected listening to the axillary commander the first time and now I cant progress the story how do I talk to him?

(+1)

I am not entirely certain where you are in the story... but if you rejected his explanation of quests, you can simply go to the bulletin board and pick up the first quest there!

He does explain where to actually go for a lot of the quests, so you really should pay attention to his words though...

no ummm he at some point tells you that he has something to tell you after you come back from the mission where kuno and the brawler go a separate way and find the big tree. But since I came back with no armour and no healing items (I also didn't save ) so I didn't want to hear it and he said to come to talk to him during the evening I think? Because he's buys during the day so I can't talk to him to progress the story

Ah, I see. You missed his offer to be invited to his house.

He should offer you to come visit again in the evenings. Maybe after the "mine quest" a bit later!

but i already finished every quest on the board and I keep going to his house and talking to him in the evening and he still doesn't invite me? I even met him at night when hw was talking to another desert lizard?

I'm afraid you might have missed the opportunity then. He should offer you whenever it's sunset (the sky is orange). There's two opportunities, once after the slug den quest, and once after the mine quest.

If you have any old saves to go back and witness these scenes, feel free to. But ultimately the only thing you missed out on are some relationship points and character backstory / exposition. No lewd scenes or anything.

(+1)

I didn't notice this before and even still, it's very minor.  When the Auxiliary Commander gives you the new desert outfit, the boxes  around the site say that the 'powers that be are certainly putting a conceited effort into'.  I think you meant say 'putting a concerted effort into'.  I haven't seen anything else that stands out (other than getting my ass repeatedly and royally kicked by the drake in the orange fruit side quest.) D:

(+2)

A good strategy for that fight is to Present Yourself... and then Resist! when he's grappling you! You can deal some damage and lower his defense in such a manner, several times infact...!

Typo noted as well, thank you.

Wanted to say I enjoy the world building and the characters. Love talking to the NPCs and just interacting with every little thing for potential flavor text. Can’t wait for more lore bits in the future updates :D

(+2)

As the person who writes a lot of that stuff, it's greatly appreciated whenever somebody calls out the lore and world building and characters specifically! Even if there's a lot of lewd things to enjoy it's always great when people end up finding the other stuff intriguing too!

More lore will most certainly be coming! Hope you'll continue to enjoy, and thanks a lot for playing!

You guys knocked it out is the park with this update! Everything got improved, the art, the gameplay, the enemies, bravo!

I thought I wouldn't like the quest system, I expected it to be grindy filler, but to my surprise they aren't. They all have unique enemies or provide character development. I already thought the art was good, but it got even better this update. The gameplay and combat got more varied as well. All of this kept the game fresh and not repetitive.

I liked the enemies in this update the most, especially the 2 bats and the slug golem. I got excited when I saw the chastity cage, thought we're getting some dommy blacksmith x grove chastity content, or a chastity bound state like with the slime suit or slave outfit, but oh well, maybe next update ;)

Now the long wait for the next update begins, but you guys have proven that the wait is well worth it. Thank you for your hard work

(+1)

Thank YOU for the big kind review! Much appreciated, truly! Glad to know we can not only go above and beyond your expectations for the good stuff, but subvert your expectations for things you maybe didn't expect to enjoy!

No pressure at all, but we'd really appreciate you giving the game an official rating using the itch.io system! It'd help us a great deal~

But otherwise, thanks again for playing, and hope you'll stick around for the next update!

(+2)

I'm looking forward to play this update! I'm really enjoying this game so far, the artwork and sounds are great! I love the seed hungry creatures and milking  scenes especially :3

(+1)

Thank you! I hope you enjoy the complete experience!

(+1)

How do I change the language to Chinese?

A Chinese translation will be coming in a few weeks. Please be patient. We will make an announcement when it is ready.

(+1)

This game is just amazing!! I, as a person who does not know English very well, would like to ask. Is there any information about the Russian patch of the new version?

We are unsure at this time. But we will make an announcement if we do find some volunteers to make a Russian translation.

Thanks, I'll be looking forward to it!!

(+2)

This is the best game I've ever played!

However, I recently noticed that someone tried to decompile and crack your game, but my dissuasion seems to have had no effect. Do you plan to encrypt your game in the future?

(+2)

We don't mind it if you take a look at the game files, but we highly dissuade people from sharing it around as it could contain old assets and things that can easily create false expectations. We may look into better forms of encryption in the future, but if someone is motivated enough, there are tools for everything out there.

- RegalBuster

(+2)

Finished it! Great update I'm already starving for more.

(+1)

Nice work! Thanks for playing~

Where is the big tree for the second mini quest?

Teleport to the jungle campsite using your Docs. Case. Go to the right and climb up the vines.
In this area, proceed around in a sort of C shape to the top-RIGHT exit. From there you'll be at the foot of a waterfall. You wanna work your way around, cross the river and climb up the waterfall using the vines and such.
Once you reach the top of the falls... there's only one path to go, to the left. You should be able to figure it out from there.

How do you comple this quest? Ive already explored the entire tree and fought the boss

Go through the hole behind the boss.

Follow the path to the end and jump down.

Go to the left, find the beam of light shining down, and press Enter in the middle to climb up.

Thank you so much I couldn't figure it out because for some reason my game wouldn't let me make that last jump to the tiny two block island where the deactivated sigil is when I was able to make it thank you

(+1)

I want to find new comer to get new equipment, but i can't find him in Auxiliary Division Hall .Where is he?

(+1)

Please make sure you're playing the most recent version of our game. We had a brief issue where he disappeared, but it's been fixed now.

Make sure to use the save file transfer guide in the download so you don't need to restart
And I recommend restarting from a save before you arrived back at the camp, just to be safe.

(+1)

I downloaded the latest version and transferred the data according to the operation, but the problem didn't seem to get better

(+1)

That's not the latest version. It says "v.0304" at the top corner of your screen.

You need to be on "v0.306".

I also recommend you don't use a save that's already in the area! It might cause some issues.

(+1)

thanks for your help.

(+1)

Question.

Are you guys taking suggestions for the game's story and/or events?

No, 'fraid not.

(1 edit) (+1)

I just got done rescuing the trio from the southern forest and just returned to the center campsite. Supposedly I'm supposed to meet the commander for the first time, but the event didn't trigger and the game is acting as if I've already been here before. What's more, the special scene for examining commander's tent too many times triggered for me despite me touching it for the first time.

(+1)

Sorry, that's a known bug we accidentally introduced during the hotfixes. Please make sure you're running the most recent version and it should fix that issue right up.

Make sure to check the save file transfer guide so you can continue on as smoothly as possible. We do recommend you go back to a save BEFORE you return to the campsite, just to be safe.

(+1)

Ah, that works. Thank you.

Although if I'm looking at the flowchart there's supposed to be a missable apple in this area. I presume this apple had changed its location?

(+1)

the apples in this flowchart are out-of-date and have been removed, I'm afraid. There's 10 new ones to be found in v0.3!

(+2)

I don't know if its a bug or just my computer but there are areas in each of the new areas in version 3 that when I'm moving with a mouse will only move 1 to 3 steps and then stop when it should move much further. One of them is the tent u walk under to get to one of the fruits.

(+2)

We're aware of this. Unfortunately it's an issue with RPG Maker itself, not something we can do anything about. In simple terms, mouse-click movement will halt whenever you land on an event tile. And because we have event tiles to play noises or make the tent transparent, it stops you.

Sorry but there's not anything we can really do about this. That's why we recommend using the arrow keys as much as possible.

(2 edits) (+1)

Hello I need some help in this game, there are no load button were I can go back to my last playthrough, is there a way that I can load my last playthrough? And also why there are no load button, and when will you guys add it?

(+2)

If you can't load your saves, it sounds like you haven't extracted / unzipped the download. You need to do that or your saves won't be... saved.

(+4)

Review Time!! (Spoiler For Grove v0.3)

This update satisfies me from heart to desire

Our grove we know is still the same as before he was very quiet. but in 1 particular scene. HE FINALLY SPOKEN "THANK YOU". The first time I saw him, he was just a boring protagonist and doesn't really have personality. He cares about his friend, and apparently even strangers from Azure Capital.

If you want MORE details about my Review, you can check it in this google docs (BUT BE CAREFUL FOR SPOILER GAME SCENE IN THIS REVIEW)
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1nCsLh1qINeSNM2gjvS6OA210GRZpN7GwiERYaG74DKw/edit?usp=sharing

(+1)

I agree with the skip button. it's very frustrating to have to watch it all over again if you die in combat.

The v3 was very good, however I found it too short and could have a better variety of weapons like Staff and Bow.

Grove is still an RPG.

Yeahh hahaha, even though mostly content of grove in game over xD But we still have to skip game over we already see at least 5 times
But Grove use software Rpgmaker, the skip function isn't already there (like renp'y for example). so it bit hard to make skip button, but maybe add "you wanna skip this gameover" button when we dead 5 times for same enemy. (it will require a bit coding tho)

(+2)

I absolutely love the game so far, i've been following it since the day it released although i didn't play it for a few months now.

I have a question though, what difference does it make if i chose to help the bandit boss or defeat him? I did both but idk with which path to continue with, what is your more preferred path?

(+2)

In the short-term, it gives you different scenes and / or a new skill.

In the long-term it'll play into the story once you meet them again...! Stay patient for now...!

(+1)

Is there a way to survive the 2. visit in the mill?

By the way, incredible work witz this game, I really enjoy it :)

(+1)

Yes, there is. Pay close attention to the visuals. Look for the pink symbols... do they look a bit like arrows, perhaps...?

I'm sure you can figure it out from there! Good luck!

(1 edit) (+1)

Thanks, downloaded the new update and it works fine. Now I´ve fnished it and being hyped for Part 2, in a year or how long you need for it :) its worthy to wait for it.

(+2)

Will you ever add lizard  genitalia (optional ofc)? Some ppl include me would be grateful for this.  Oh also can you please make quest directions easier to navigate ,because i get lost alot,i barely found beach. And can you make important information and  CG's skipable only after 3 seconds, because i might lost some important content just because i rather skipping stuff (sorry).

Do you need arrows that shows a new location or something? Your problem is exactly that, you skip all the text, where the directions were mentioned or showed. Why even bother playing if you skip the story? You can grab the game files and unpack them just to watch CG's or just find a save file with a gallery elsewhere. I can relate to some help, like pointing at a teleport map where to go for the quests, but even that takes time and i doubt this should be a priority right now.

(-1)

Maybe because its p0rn game and my goal is unlocking p0rn through gameplay?  If you didnt know, some people might skip story because thats not their main priority. Also yes,i need arrows or smth, because even if i read everything and check quest log i still dont understand directions properly,i dont even know where is east, west etc. Atleast you didnt complain about lizard genitalia :>

(+1)

I have just finished the updated contents, and I must say it's as always awesome. I even find myself enjoying the character and plot development more than the erotic part lol(both are good!). However, I have some questions about some items. One is that how can I obtain hardened black sludge? I find one in my pocket but I can't remember where did I get it. Another is that are items sold by Bizz useful in this batch? If so I will try farm some money and get them.

Bizz's items are mostly there for a joke, but also some lore if you find that kind of thing interesting. There's something you can "assemble" that is useful but otherwise it's all just silly junk.

Hardened black sludge can be found by visiting the valley that leads to the desert!

Other than that thanks for the kind praise on the game, both the writing and the lewds! That means a lot to us indeed!

And by "valley" you mean before the Northern Bridge? just a bit confused. Love the game!

No, it's on the other side of the bridge. From the 'northern bridge campsite'  cross over to the other side, and then go to the top-right of the settlement. It's up there.

ah I see... Thanks!

Loving all the content (old and new) but I was wondering, how do you open the locked room in Northern Bridge abandoned bar? Or am I being really stupid?

It's not available yet! But maybe next time...! We have plans...

(+1)

Good work so far!!! As a question/suggestion: are there any plans to let the player spend more time with the corrupted outfits, maybe even at a high corruption level? They're easily my favorite part of the game but a lot of them seem to be exclusive to bad ends and not things you can get stuck in for long periods of time. Would have really loved to get trapped in the new edging latex outfit for example!

Also sorta thinking it would be cool to be allowed to "unpurify" stuff like the corrupted slime underwear from the start of the game x)

(+1)

Hi!

Is the gallery in a different place?  I can't find it lol, but I am also blind sometimes so...

(+1)

The gallery will unlock when you complete all of the new story content and reach the ending!

(1 edit) (+1)

thanks :)

What do I do with the slug egg it says perhaps the wizard may be of assistance but when I talk to him he never mentions it and says I have nothing of interest.

Used in the alchemy pot you get by taking a delivery from red dragon in southern forest camp to his brother, the blue wizard in the inn.
