We've been very busy with work, with university, and game development has taken a back-seat because ultimately it's a passion project and we do have personal life goals to achieve first and foremost...
Buuuut, there is more happening in the background. We're quietly working on stuff. And we do have an update planned. I can't say when it'll arrive... but we'll do our best to keep folks updated when it does!

Hmm after i gave the strange suit (the one from the bandit place) the game sorta glitched out and the characters stay on screen and i dint get the suit back
If you go to your menu > key items > documents case and use it to teleport anywhere, it should clear this visual bug. You'll get the bandit suit back later in the game, so don't worry about that just yet.
This is a known error and has been fixed in our development build too, so it'll be gone in the future. For now, just use the teleportation fix, please!
Final Fantasy and Undertale are certainly two highly regarded games, so the fact you consider our little passion project to be of a similar caliber is a great compliment indeed, thank you very much! :)
Was trying to get the reward for The Rubbery Slime strip, item and only got the blacksmith scene. Is the reward implemented in .204 or is the blacksmith scene the reward?
So if you go into the slime cave core (where the slime dragons are) and loss to one they coat you in slime. You can then go to the fire in the room and it will give you the Slime Strip which you can take to the wizard and have researched. I just don't know if the cutscene with the blacksmith afterward is all that is supposed to happen.
The cutscene with the blacksmith where he... 'uses' the slime slab is all that's supposed to happen right now. If you haven't triggered that yet... look at the blacksmith's shop and see if you can find the slime slab there!
The completion and gameplay of the game impressed me the most. Aside from my little hobby (XD), I've always wanted to see what the story will be like, so far I've experienced it pretty much, I still can't open the locked door, but it doesn't matter, I strongly support it. I had a problem with the sponsorship process, hopefully I can fix it later. You're the best game producer ever!

I absolutely love this game....it's funny at times (don't touch the desert dragon's banana), cute at others (everything about Kuro), and most of the time....incredibly hot (tentacles, slimes, hypnosis...oh yes)
I did encounter some issues with the tron like worlds where Grove goes into like a computer....namely frame rate drops and it became incredibly hard to progress with keyboard controls (even mouse controls weren't 100%). It might be just my computer or something...I dunno, had a heck of time getting through them due to the frame rate issues
that being said, will patiently wait to see what comes next
It seems to be related to computer performance, but some people have experienced issues even when running powerful hardware, so we're not entirely sure... nonetheless, glad you were able to make it through those timing puzzles and experience the whole game.

Does the tentacle plant from the first dream make anymore appearances in the next update? And when jailer says he "lost too many scouts already " (jungle) howcome you never see anyone other than them? It guess itsjust implied right? And the black thong, will it be seen again aswell? Dont take my questions for nagging, i realize you may have gotten them asked before, i just wanted to be specific is all, i am just curious, oh and why is it not possible to open other pots like the one rinnal was in? (Also jungle)

Hello, I've been having a great time with your game. The art and enemies are great, and I'm impressed by the creativity and passion shown off by you guys.
I managed to get through a large amount of the game, but I had to stop right near the end due to a game breaking bug. I saved the game, and exited by going to the main menu, then closing out the tab. Upon reloading the game, the text became 'garbled' and mostly unreadable, like so.
Starting a new game 'ungarbled' the text, but the problem persisted. Let me know if this is a known issue. If it's not, feel free to ask more specific questions and I'll answer to the best of my ability.
I don't think we've ever gotten a bug like this before, so any details you can spare would be of great help!
- Which version of Grove are you playing on? (I'm assuming it's Windows 0.204, but just need to make sure) - Is the game folder unzipped? And where did you place the resultant game directory file? - Do you remember where you were, and what you did just before you encountered the bug? Was there anything unusual just before you saved?

- Yes, I am playing on the 2.04 patch- I've reproduced the bug on several (2-3) different fresh downloads over the past few months.
- The folder is unzipped, in a folder called 'games' directly in my downloads.
- The bug has happened at almost every point throughout the game, from the campfire straight after the intro scene to midway through the bandit's hideout. Saving seemed normal based on my experience with RPG maker games (e.g. no flashes, prompts, etc.), however I never once managed to load a non-corrupt file once I exited the game. The bug would persist when I transferred save files from an old game to a fresh download. However, starting a new game on a old or new download would 'refresh' the bug until I exited again.
Additionally, almost every time I would exit the game, the corruption would change a little. The complete scrambled eggs that you saw in the screenshot I've sent was the most common, but other effects including skipping letters (eg. HELLO ---> H L O, etc.) partially formed letters, or letters replaced with underscores. Notably, formatted text, such as the purple text in the computer world game over, or the ranger's subscript never corrupted.
I regret to tell you I don't have any of my original saves- When I joined the discord today I overwrote them with the completed gallery saves so I could see the slime dragon scenes (sorry). That being said, I closed out of Grove earlier and the saves seem to have been "successfully" corrupted.

Upon testing the saves, I was unfortunately unable to recreate the bug on my end. I'm at a bit of a loss as to why this occurs, but I'll be sure to consider it for future releases. No worries about importing complete saves, you play how you want, and I don't blame you wanting to do so due to these save issues!
If you notice/remember anything else specific that you think could crack the case, do feel free to share. I unfortunately will need to mark this as a user-end issue, as there's not much I can do after a bit of testing.

Really, really amazing game holy shit, but I really wish the gallery section doesn't bring me back to the title screen every time when I (purposely) lost to enemies
Sorry about the gallery nuisance... there's a workaround but it's a bit of a kludge, and because the gallery is the last thing we implement, it's usually a bit too much of a bother to fix.

Hey there! This game looks very interesting and I'd love to give it a go! Unfortunately, it looks like there's some sort of bug in the Mac version that keeps in from launching properly. Every attempt will show developer credits, the NSFW warning, and then an immediate crash before anything else occurs. I hope this isn't too big of a fix!
Does the game just immediately crash with no warning? Or does it provide an error message before doing so? If so, could you tell us exactly what that error message says, and then maybe we can help you!
1.) Download the game .zip file via the MacOS backup link at the bottom of the game description, and extract the folder (Grove_0.204) to the desktop.
2). Download the normal version of NW.js and transfer the app to Applications.
3). Go finder > utilities > terminal and use the following command to launch the game (the "name" should be your username for the file path):
open -n -a nwjs --args "/Users/name/Desktop/Grove_0.204”
If this is all a little too technical, I do apologise. We'll do our best to look into the issue, but... that's a bit difficult when the game just crashes with no error message.
First off - thank you for all your help! I greatly appreciate how quickly you've been responding. I finally had a moment to take a crack at this tonight, and figured I'd report back.
I went ahead and grabbed nwjs and used the terminal command you provided me! I had to tweak the file path just a little to make sure it aligned with the folder names, as a straight copy/paste didn't accomplish anything. I went ahead and tried a file path for both the layers of folders alongside the app for the sake of completeness. Didn't want to accidentally mess things up, as I'm not sure what I'm doing.
The end result of this was the same error being thrown by nwjs every attempt - "Manifest file missing or unreadable." I'm hoping that's a clue for your bug hunt, and not an indication of me mangling the command somehow!
Played it, loved it, paid $50USD as a fitting reward for a game well made, and registered to give my praise!
Some ideas I had:
I hope for more contextual text prompts when affected by states or parasites etc with later updates . It drastically increases the lewdness of the game without too much more added production time. Reminding the player every so often that Grove is dealing with forced teasing. I also hope for the possibility to unlock more exotic combinations of scenarios if one is able to traverse across regions in states (slime suited, latched, wrapped in bandages) and that enemies react with specific attacks or text prompts in those scenarios. That way you get more game for backtracking the same areas.
Would also be awesome if Grove needed to carry around items of a suggestive nature, and that after getting knocked down in combat, certain enemies took advantage of said items, for bonus sequences. Maybe even combinations of items, or a stackable effect if you have several of the same item (like with latchers). Say for example the rope you need to rappel to the mines. Maybe you need 3 ropes, and you collect them at different places, needing to get past enemies to get them. With the 1st rope, your ankles get tied upon knock-down. With the second rope, your wrists get tied upon knock-down. With a third rope, you get hogtied, and a lewd game over ensues. Something like that. This might also force you have to go back and get a new item of the same kind even if you defeat the enemy! E.g. "You cut yourself free of the rope, but now you have to get a fresh bundle". Just throwing it out there :D

Contextual prompts and scenarios where Grove might be under the effect of some kind of status, like the existing slimesuit or bandage wrap scenes are something we'd certainly be interested in doing more of. Combinations are a bit more tricky and more work to make... work, but maybe...!
As for inventory items that have an effect on scenes, that could also be done! I won't make any promises, but I do think that's a good and somewhat simple thing to implement in terms of coding.

Very high effort for a porn game, or an RPG maker game in general really. Honestly pretty impressive. Good porn, good characters, tons on offer here and I can't wait to see what else the devs can come up with in the future.

I went into this game expecting nothing. Was bored and just needed something to pass the time. The next thing I knew it was 3am and I should really go get some rest, but the "just one more thing" vibe was strong.
Definitely going to play more of this and pay attention to future updates. Best character ever? Tuon the blacksmith. He's absolutely precious.
Dont get me wrong, the game looks great, grove just seems like he needs a girl is all, im curious why there is not a single female anywhere to bee seen, almost unrealistically so, it would add more variety for atleast a few girls to the game, did not a single female come on the expedition to map and explore the north?
Like it says in the description, the game is M/M focused. There's some lore reasons as to why there's no women on the expedition, but there ARE females in this world.
We MIGHT include a female NPC or two in the game, but I'll tell you right now not to expect any explicit content with them. That's... just not the focus of this game, really.
Makes me a little sad though, l think dragons and lizards are cool, im just not all that into other dudes, i tend to go for the ambiguous stuff as a result, im not asking you to change the narrative, just some stuff for people who want a bit of the female variety, plust it might draw a bigger audience to your game, im straight and im here, i lean a bit towards the slimes and slugs scenes as a result, its a fun game, im just not really into other men.
Apologies that there isn't a prominent female presence in the game, but we'd rather try to have a focus for the content just so the bulk of the player base will know what to expect. There will be other 'ambiguous' creatures and the such, but I'll say this now that we won't be having M/F content in Grove. Perhaps in future projects, we'll dabble, but not this one

We're busy with work and university right now, but hopefully next month we'll start to have more previews to share with people.

Translations are community-led so no plans on our end, but players are free to give it a try

Hey there! This game looks very interesting and I'd love to give it a go! Unfortunately, it looks like there's some sort of bug in the Mac version that keeps in from launching properly. Every attempt will show developer credits, the NSFW warning, and then an immediate crash before anything else occurs. I hope this isn't too big of a fix!
Does the game just immediately crash with no warning? Or does it provide an error message before doing so? If so, could you tell us exactly what that error message says, and then maybe we can help you!
Unfortunately, I have no error message to provide. It just immediately crashes. Sorry, I'm sure that makes your jobs harder
Our best suggestion would be to try launching the gaming using a program called nw.js which can be found at
https://nwjs.io
1.) Download the game .zip file via the MacOS backup link at the bottom of the game description, and extract the folder (Grove_0.204) to the desktop.
2). Download the normal version of NW.js and transfer the app to Applications.
3). Go finder > utilities > terminal and use the following command to launch the game (the "name" should be your username for the file path):
open -n -a nwjs --args "/Users/name/Desktop/Grove_0.204”
If this is all a little too technical, I do apologise. We'll do our best to look into the issue, but... that's a bit difficult when the game just crashes with no error message.
First off - thank you for all your help! I greatly appreciate how quickly you've been responding. I finally had a moment to take a crack at this tonight, and figured I'd report back.
I went ahead and grabbed nwjs and used the terminal command you provided me! I had to tweak the file path just a little to make sure it aligned with the folder names, as a straight copy/paste didn't accomplish anything. I went ahead and tried a file path for both the layers of folders alongside the app for the sake of completeness. Didn't want to accidentally mess things up, as I'm not sure what I'm doing.
The end result of this was the same error being thrown by nwjs every attempt - "Manifest file missing or unreadable." I'm hoping that's a clue for your bug hunt, and not an indication of me mangling the command somehow!
You can try to put the game body on the desktop, I solved the problem perfectly with this method, I hope it can help you.

Played it, loved it, paid $50USD as a fitting reward for a game well made, and registered to give my praise!
Some ideas I had:
I hope for more contextual text prompts when affected by states or parasites etc with later updates . It drastically increases the lewdness of the game without too much more added production time. Reminding the player every so often that Grove is dealing with forced teasing. I also hope for the possibility to unlock more exotic combinations of scenarios if one is able to traverse across regions in states (slime suited, latched, wrapped in bandages) and that enemies react with specific attacks or text prompts in those scenarios. That way you get more game for backtracking the same areas.
Would also be awesome if Grove needed to carry around items of a suggestive nature, and that after getting knocked down in combat, certain enemies took advantage of said items, for bonus sequences. Maybe even combinations of items, or a stackable effect if you have several of the same item (like with latchers). Say for example the rope you need to rappel to the mines. Maybe you need 3 ropes, and you collect them at different places, needing to get past enemies to get them. With the 1st rope, your ankles get tied upon knock-down. With the second rope, your wrists get tied upon knock-down. With a third rope, you get hogtied, and a lewd game over ensues. Something like that. This might also force you have to go back and get a new item of the same kind even if you defeat the enemy! E.g. "You cut yourself free of the rope, but now you have to get a fresh bundle". Just throwing it out there :D

Contextual prompts and scenarios where Grove might be under the effect of some kind of status, like the existing slimesuit or bandage wrap scenes are something we'd certainly be interested in doing more of. Combinations are a bit more tricky and more work to make... work, but maybe...!
As for inventory items that have an effect on scenes, that could also be done! I won't make any promises, but I do think that's a good and somewhat simple thing to implement in terms of coding.

Very high effort for a porn game, or an RPG maker game in general really. Honestly pretty impressive. Good porn, good characters, tons on offer here and I can't wait to see what else the devs can come up with in the future.

I went into this game expecting nothing. Was bored and just needed something to pass the time.
The next thing I knew it was 3am and I should really go get some rest, but the "just one more thing" vibe was strong.
Definitely going to play more of this and pay attention to future updates.

Dont get me wrong, the game looks great, grove just seems like he needs a girl is all, im curious why there is not a single female anywhere to bee seen, almost unrealistically so, it would add more variety for atleast a few girls to the game, did not a single female come on the expedition to map and explore the north?
It's legit the first few words in the overview of the game "Grove” is an M/M focused NSFW RPG " that's why there isn't a single female
Like it says in the description, the game is M/M focused. There's some lore reasons as to why there's no women on the expedition, but there ARE females in this world.
We MIGHT include a female NPC or two in the game, but I'll tell you right now not to expect any explicit content with them. That's... just not the focus of this game, really.
Makes me a little sad though, l think dragons and lizards are cool, im just not all that into other dudes, i tend to go for the ambiguous stuff as a result, im not asking you to change the narrative, just some stuff for people who want a bit of the female variety, plust it might draw a bigger audience to your game, im straight and im here, i lean a bit towards the slimes and slugs scenes as a result, its a fun game, im just not really into other men.
Apologies that there isn't a prominent female presence in the game, but we'd rather try to have a focus for the content just so the bulk of the player base will know what to expect. There will be other 'ambiguous' creatures and the such, but I'll say this now that we won't be having M/F content in Grove. Perhaps in future projects, we'll dabble, but not this one
