You can copy the save files and store them somewere else on your pc. It's a bit more work, but if you want you can do this to have more saves. Be carefull with changing the name tough, I'm not sure if this will make the file invalide for the game
Aside from all the artwork and the beautiful graphics, the lore of this game is very intricate and well built, capturating the attention of the player, and the end of this version that ends on a cliffhanger makes me want to know how the story continues.
I look forward to the next release, but for now the game is perfect as is
Thank you for the kind words! We're proud of the work we've done so far and that so many people seem to enjoy it, from the lore to the lewds to the art and mechanics.
Hope we can continue to impress moving forward, and hope you'll continue to play it when we do!
Hi devs, love the game. Looking forward to more (of both this and Prowler)!
I have a lore question (or two) and a future-content question.
Lore question: What exactly are the lekta (the auxiliary commander's race)?
I had thought of him as another dragon, with the "tokadi" (Grove and most-to-all of the other characters) and "lekta" (the auxiliary commander's people) essentially being different ethnicities of dragon. But he refers to himself as a different species, and having different anatomy.
(Related: Are the bandits dragons as well, or some other race such as lizards? They don't have horns, whereas all the other dragons--and the lekta--do....).
Future-content question (possibly related to the aforementioned "different anatomy"): Do you have any plans for consensual sexytimes for Grove?
Hey, thanks for the enthusiasm towards our games and lore! As for your future content question, the answer is yes, potentially! You might have noticed you can build your relationship with certain NPCs. Play your cards right and maybe something might bloom from that!
As for your lore question, I'm afraid I can't answer most of that just yet. I CAN say the bandits are NOT dragons though, yes. As for the lekta auxiliary commander... you'll have to wait and see, but you're very observant to notice those things about his physicality and what he says about himself. In future updates you'll see an answer to your question though...!
Perhaps, but no plans at the moment, as it's not a language either of us developers speak, and we don't really want to release a thoughtless machine translation.
Just follow that train of logic you boarded through to the station:
"Half the time I get across and half the time I don't". That means there's evidently some kind of variable at play, right?
Now pay attention to the vines... and maybe you'll notice said variable... and once you do, you can learn which way is GOOD and you can cross, and which way is BAD.
Recently discovered this game, and at first I was a little hesitant trying it out, but quickly found out that there's more than meets the eye. that is to say, the game is amazing!
Obviously the game's NSFW aspect was the main selling point at first (even though it was weird to try out a game of this nature), but I was pleasantly surprised to find a much deeper experience in it. with nice music, new mechanics being introduced later in the game, great art, the changing world with the developing story, excellent writing and intriguing plot, makes this game an easy recommendation (even if it's not finished yet).
Thank you Grove developers, hope that you'll find immense success. can't wait to see what's in store for this project.
Thank YOU for the kind comment and for playing our game through! It's always a pleasure to hear people enjoying the full breadth of the game, not just the main NSFW hook!
Hope we can continue to make things as enjoyable as this from now until the game's completion, and hope you'll play again when future updates are released!
One more thing the other comment when I posted the review and suggestions of your game. What I try to say by animation and voices in them. Could it be similar to Small Top & Cloud Meadow Animation that's what I meant not a complicated thing just that from those two games I've already mentioned I on already. Can you think about it for next future 😉
Sirlzike it’s me travalor87 can you somehow show pictures of the trench, down some holes, and in a handful of other places in the desert? The tall pillars do not count for shelter. Look like so I can have it stored in my memory and remember where to go and not to go when I’m in dunes. Again. ☺️
It's really not difficult, and I'm not going to share a picture because each of the shady zones looks slightly different.
From the entrance there are two nearby shaded areas. Follow the boulders and cacti to the RIGHT, and then walk straight upwards after the second cactus. Or you can walk forward about twenty paces forward, then walk to the LEFT and you'll find a shaded crevasse with blue water in it.
Remember to walk around in the shade to reduce your exhaustion.
Idk if i'm the only one but when i try to play it on my mac, an "unknownerror" pops in. does someone knows a solution for this, please i really want to play :c
Alright. I'm going to give you some step-by-step instructions. Hopefully this works for you:
First things first, have you properly extracted the folder after downloading it? If you don't do that, the game can't properly access the save system because it's still in read-only mode. Make absolutely sure you've extracted the game after downloading it.
If you've done that, the next thing to try is this: Make a new folder. Call it whatever you want, and you can move this wherever you want later. Open the ZIPPED Grove file you downloaded. Open the new folder you just created. Click and drag all of the contents from the Grove download to your new folder. Try running the game again.
If you've tried both of those things and it doesn't work, let us know and we can proceed with next steps.
Amazing storytelling is exhilarating, but the glitches need work, especially in the desert dune zones, for the time limit of heat exhaustion. I would recommend it if you put a special item. That must be required on a higher-level basis from 16 to 20. That will allow plyers to eliminate the desert time exhaustion. That time is only achieved if they defeat a small quest. That will only take 29 to 40 minutes, minimum. After defeating the quest, you'll face off with a deadly boss that has the power to turn anything into kinky latex or bondage desires that will consume the Grove character if the player that is using him succeeds in defeating each and every kind of sexual entity that wants to turn all males into sex slaves for the rest of their lives while being used for public use or milking them through day and night. Also, you know that one scene, like the drone suit. Turing grove into a latex suit I wish there were a way that could be like the underwear garments special boost that can contradict the corruption attacks from any sexual entities trying to consume Grove while using the most powerful anti-curse latex suit oddity in the realm. Similar to the cursed underwear. One last idea, you know, when Grove gets defeated with all enemies and goes to lewd sexy scenes, can you somehow animated sexual scenes like a real actual animation along with voice actors following saying the dialoged out loud. with their characters, animation length would be couple of 5 to 10 minutes? before the gamer over appears, that would make it not just awesome but also make your game unique. Just a small reminder you don't have to follow the animation part it's just an idea a suggestion just in case you want to build your game more interesting.
after obtaining enchanted clothes to travel across the desert dunes. I constantly die even if just one step. Saying that I already have heat exhaustion and take on shelter. After crossing only a few halfway across dunes for a couple of seconds I die constantly and yes I try different ways, so my character doesn't die. Every time I try across dunes I always return to the same stop where the entrance begins. Can you please help me or tell me a way to cross the dunes without the game saying that I am already heat exhausted even if I didn’t even cross halfway through the desert? Showing me where my character can rest shade without costly dying from dune heat. I'm sorry I'm responding like this I'm exhausted I've been playing 2 days straight I leveled up to level 20. Please is there anyone who crossed the dunes without dying constantly? Also, this is the first time I have ever been invested and enjoyed a game, especially this one I give Grove 10/10.
Shelter can be found inside a cabin, in a trench, down some holes, and in a handful of other places in the desert. The tall pillars do not count for shelter.
You need to walk around in the sheltered spots to lower your exhaustion. You can't just stand still. Walk around for several seconds and (if you have UI effects on) you should see Grove start to recover. The game will also make a sound effect as you recover.
Move from shelter to shelter. If you are starting to get exhausted and haven't found shelter, go back the way you came and try again in a different direction.
Finally, your destination is in the north-east (top-right). Look for some stairs going down.
Hello, I like this game of yours very much, I have a few questions about this game.Do you have any plans to have a separate quest line for Grove once it reaches a certain level of corruption, similar to Tuan? I hope you can answer my questions.Thank you!
What I mean by this is that when some players are on a quest and if the Grove Corruption reaches a certain level, the player can choose whether they want to accept the Corruption to continue the game with the Corrupt faction or be a normal person
We know a lot of people are interested in a feature like this, and it's something we're often thinking about. We also are aware that such a thing would effectively double the amount of content we'd be making for the game, if we wanted a "corrupt path" to feel meaningfully different.
We can't make any promises about such a feature. But we can at least say it's an idea we think about a lot.
Hello Grove development team, it’s been a long while since I’ve have the pleasure of talking to you all! I just wanted to say a thank you and ask a question. I redownloaded the game last week and have been playing it in between my studies, and I still absolutely love the story, art, character development, and the twists and turns. I have to say, based off of my previous statement, that my favorite moments of the story are still when we acquire the first of the “interesting” items and its after effects (and oh my when that scene first happened I was in awe for days), and when we take a trip down to the water and see a quite little jello fellow with a growing~ desire to help our little blue dragon. Overall, such an amazing adventure with creative cuddly (sometimes too cuddly~) characters, NPCs, and opponents, and absolutely awe inspiring art! Please keep up the good work. Also, talking about good work, I was wondering if the game has since been out on HAITUS. I was worried that the game is being put on the back burner due to the Grove Team loosing files, life prioritization, or other things. I would just like to ask the status of the game, whether on HAITUS, developing still, “dead” or any other status.
Either way, thank you for such an amazing game, and I hope that each and everyone of you are doing amazing! Stay safe!
Hi, thanks for your kind words on the game. We're glad you still enjoy it so much and think so highly of all the content and moments in the story.
As for the status of Grove, it is still on "Hiatus". We're hard at work on a new update for our other project, Prowler. Once this update is complete and released later this year, we will return to working on Grove.
If you're just looking for a place to rewatch scenes, it does have one of those. Unless there's some feature Small on Top's gallery had that you're specifically talking about.
wait, can somebody help me with this part?im seem to be sstuck and don't know what to do about when reached to the Northern Gulch i go into the light which is upwards and then when i go into there it says "stymied by the act of nature, i am forced to go back into the camp" and it is also impassable too and then i am back into the campsite.
After that i have no idea how to continue the story.
Starting from the Inn, walk straight down until you can't go any further, and then go to the left. Follow the path out to the cliffside, left as far as you can, and then head downwards again. That'll put you on the new path.
Just finished the ending which made me sad because i loved it!
Came here for the NSFW (because that's why everyone else is here and you are 100% lying if you said you weren't) but was shocked that not only is there great art but a entertaining story to go with it.
When progressing I figured the Inn was a one stop shop to rest and buy items like any RPG. But when I noticed that the settlement was really expanding, It got me invested into the details and looking forward to what will happen next. There were a few times i had to slap myself to realize why I was originally drawn to play this game In the first place!
This has made me looking forward to checking often for updates and when prowler Is finished. 10/10 game for me. <3
Hey there, thanks a lot for the very kind comment! As the one who writes a lot of the story, it's always a great pleasure to hear when folks "came for the porn, stayed for the plot".
We hope we can recapture some similarly enjoyable vibes with Prowler later this year. And Grove once more after that. Thanks again for playing, for the kind words, and hope you enjoy what comes next!
I'm kind of stuck. I'm at the cliffside cavern. and am blocked by a locked cell. where do I find that key? it's for the area in the cave with the red slimes after using the mine cart. Also where can I find stronger equipement?
That door cannot be opened yet. Your destination is actually back in the cliffside caverns. You're looking for an archway, near the mine cart. Head through and down the stairs.
You'll be able to get stronger equipment soon. After you finish some events down there in the caves, you'll have an opportunity to do a bit of shopping.
Don't forget to use all your various abilities and items. You should be able to clear the cave at level 4-5!
I'll say there's a useful magic ability you can use against slime foes, that you may have missed. If you have any old saves from back in the blue slime forest... there's a certain person you can rescue, and they'll give you an item that works as a 'key' to access an area with a useful spell!
the rookie adventurer has been saved. I do recall him mentioning something about a certain place surrounded by slime. But have yet to find that location. There is that one rune that I cannot pass due to paralysis. I'm currently level 9. I have gone through the forest multiple times now but nothing really stood out to me. Unless that rescue can expire? Then i might have missed it. Otherwise I might go look for him. Also once you leave the forest. A certain key item loses power. Is that also permanent once you have left the forest? Can that item be recharged somewhere?
You pretty much answered all your own questions! Yes, you need to rescue the rookie, get that item he gives you, and you need to use it to pass the 'paralysis' thing.
And yes, that item does expire when you leave the forest, so you need to do it before leaving. And yes, there's a way to 'recharge' that item too.
Hi! Love the game, been playing it every now and then. But uh, I think I ran into some problems? I can't seem to access my saves. They exist, but the game won't read the files or something. I'm only around 3 hours or so into the game, and in the second digital world area so honestly I'm not too far into the game, but I kinda don't want to lose the progress i already have.
Did you extract the game from the zip file when you downloaded it? If you don't do that, the game can't actually write new save files since zipped folders are read-only.
There's an inconsiderable amount of lag when you reach to level "Your room?" and carries on when having to reach to a study room having to hit the buttons.
Do you happen to be playing on an external USB drive / Hard drive? I'd recommend you try running Grove on an internal drive (such as placing it on your desktop) as USB struggles to process the rapid image checks.
I do tend to have GROVE on a main drive which is my desktop but something could be fact of performance issues and also the jump pads also causes lag issues when not activated by the altar necklace
*small spoilers ahead if you haven't played the game"
Hi, I have been trying to complete what has already been made for the gallery but I have one that I still haven't been able to complete even after looking around trying to get the scene with the tipo of "the memory is covered in some white stains, and the skins of an unrecognizable green fruit...you walk into a small farm something green catches your eyes..."
Like the closest I got to unrecognizable green fruit was the apple (the only other thing similar to that that I found was a dream scene.) but I have already checked all the farms I could remember to no avail.
So I would really appreciated If someone were to answer what do I need to do to get that scene, because I am well and truly stuck.
This can be found fairly early into the game. After rescuing the blacksmith from the slime caverns, travel one screen to the right of the Inn. The beginnings of a farm will be there, and a box of green fruit... try eating one.
The fruit should stay there for quite some time. I don't recall when exactly the cut-off point is. Try looking there now, and if not, try going back to an earlier save. You can unlock gallery chest with earlier save files!
There should be a pathway to follow through the cavern, past many red slimes.
Near the bottom of the caverns is a minecart railway and an archway. Pass through the shadowy archway and follow the path into the next area and defeat the enemies inside.
Hey i have a problem with your discord server. I was hacked some time ago and i got banned. I already did safety improvements and stuff. Can i get unbanned? My id: dzindzel or Dzindzel 51
You've answered your own question. The game isn't recommended for mobile play and will experience bad lag spikes and missing visual elements. There's nothing we can really offer to help with mobile performance I'm afraid.
Just ended my first playthrough, really liked it and also recomend to who are interested. The Dev's did a very good job, thanks for the game :) PS: My favourite part is the Moonlight Abductor, I can't wait to see the next parts in future updates.
I love this game!! Thank you for making this game:)
I’m Japanese so maybe my English is poor but I have a question.
Now my grove is 13 level about how much contaminated he is. This is because I tried to rise the level for no reasons.(Now I completed the first quest and rescue a dragonewt after find oranges. The battle was hard for me)
and I feel the more I rises that levels, the more difficult this game. Is this right?
Thank you for playing! We're glad you enjoyed our game!
The "corruption" level does make certain things more difficult, like reduced melee damage, and causes some dialogue decisions to result in more sexual actions and danger.
Good luck with the game. The difficulty does increase as you continue, so remember to buy HP items and Save Game frequently!
I really like the game. It has a nice gameplay, a great story, lots of jokes and some good "scenes".
I started playing it for the nsfw, but ended up continuing because of the story and humour.
I love the fact there seems to be a whole culture behind the story and the diferent characters are amazing. (especially Kuno)
I really like the buns too, they are a recurring item throughout the story and they make such an amazing addition.
If I may ask, I do have a bit of a silly question, but if you look at the map... the shape of the peninsula, is it coincidental or... (I've been stuck with this question for almost a year now.)
A small idea for an update: give the keys [wads] the same function as the arrow keys. It would allow for playing with one hand ;-)
Good luck with working on the game (and the other thing you might be doing in life). I'm looking forward to the next update!
After waking up from the nightmare sequence in which you have to push the buttons and avoid the imp, I found that all my inventory items were gone. All I had was my gold and the "Helpful Mist" armour piece given during the nightmare. I presume after the game clears the inventory for the nightmare, it does not return the player's old inventory and simply leaves you with the Helpful Mist.
I had two independent playthroughs (using the same download of the game), and both playthroughs had this issue. This bug is especially impactful since Tuon is away and you cannot purchase any new weapons.
Quick note: To play the game, i am not running the "nw" file, but instead running the "Game(DONT RUN)" file. I find the "nw" file does not run, but the "Game(DONT RUN)" runs without issues (until now).
Thank you for your help. The problem is now fixed, I just didn't know how to run the nw file. I do advise including more instructions in the readme though.
I like this game So far would like to have a Walk through to find all the different amours and help with how much corruption you can take and so on for when I get stuck if possible Please and thanks.
No it was done though eventing. The tree knockdown consists of 3 events that show the physical sprite of the upright log, with the bottom-most log being the event that can be interacted with. When activated, it’ll enable a switch that turns off all the upright tree sprites for that instance, removing it from view.
The second half consists of the 3 invisible ‘path’ events that are perpendicular to the upright events. These are activated when the aforementioned ‘tree down’ switch is turned on, and have their priorities set to ‘below the player’ so that it can override the deep water barrier.

when is there going to be another update
Sorry, we don't have a date yet, but we can confirm the game is still in development!
Awesome game.
The nsfw is great and the game itself is good even without all the porn.
Also kuno is bestboi.
Thank you kindly!
The game was a masterclass. I am wondering, though, will there be more save slots for future updates?
More? 99 isn't enough for you? I'm not sure we can add any more...
Nevertheless, thank you for your kind words.
I’m more so worried about when the game is significantly more complete, but for now I do have enough haha. Although, I do save a little too much
You can copy the save files and store them somewere else on your pc. It's a bit more work, but if you want you can do this to have more saves. Be carefull with changing the name tough, I'm not sure if this will make the file invalide for the game

oooh, interesting. Thanks for the info, and the quick reply! I'll wait... ]:=8)~
I love this game. Please tell me when will the next update be.
Sorry, we don't have an ETA... but we really appreciate your interest! Thank you truly
I love this game. Will there perhaps be a German translation at some point?

Just discovered this, but wow! Russian translation :D
I don't need it personally, but I know that a lot of our folk do need it. Thanks for caring! :)
Came for the hot stuff, stayed for the (surprisingly) well-written story. Probably the best NSFW game I've played in recent memory.
Hey, thanks a lot, that sentiment is always super appreciated!

Ngl, it'd be pretty neat to have an in-game "gallery" like in Small On Top, diegetic or not.
Oh, thank you so much Creator of the game! Your help made me progress through the Story. I literally didn’t saw the path at the cliffside at all.
After you finish some events down there in the caves, you'll have an opportunity to do a bit of shopping.
yea I know of the archway you're referring to. I'm currently staying in place and am grinding levels. The enemies are pretty strong in that next area.
Any advice as to what I should do?
Did you extract the game from the zip file when you downloaded it? If you don't do that, the game can't actually write new save files since zipped folders are read-only.
There's an inconsiderable amount of lag when you reach to level "Your room?" and carries on when having to reach to a study room having to hit the buttons.
Do you happen to be playing on an external USB drive / Hard drive? I'd recommend you try running Grove on an internal drive (such as placing it on your desktop) as USB struggles to process the rapid image checks.
Let me know if it works out!
- Regalbuster
I do tend to have GROVE on a main drive which is my desktop but something could be fact of performance issues and also the jump pads also causes lag issues when not activated by the altar necklace
I was having the same problem and this worked for me. Thanks!
You can unlock gallery chest with earlier save files!
what I do in the cliffside cavern camp? I don't know to I don't understand how I keep playing from that point. I got stuck
There should be a pathway to follow through the cavern, past many red slimes.
Near the bottom of the caverns is a minecart railway and an archway. Pass through the shadowy archway and follow the path into the next area and defeat the enemies inside.
Thank you so so much❤️
Hey i have a problem with your discord server. I was hacked some time ago and i got banned. I already did safety improvements and stuff. Can i get unbanned? My id: dzindzel or Dzindzel 51
Your account has been unbanned. You can try joining again if you wish.
When will you update the link to Russian language?
Why my game lag in the dark cave ? (I'm on Android)
You've answered your own question. The game isn't recommended for mobile play and will experience bad lag spikes and missing visual elements. There's nothing we can really offer to help with mobile performance I'm afraid.
You replied so positively,May I ask about the development progress of the new version?
It's still being worked on.
We have another game that is being developed right now called Prowler. When we complete the Prowler update, we will resume work on Grove.
Can you translate it into Korean? I want to try this game in Korean 😥
Sorry, we don't know any Korean translators. And we don't want to make a lazy machine translation
Just ended my first playthrough, really liked it and also recomend to who are interested. The Dev's did a very good job, thanks for the game :)
PS: My favourite part is the Moonlight Abductor, I can't wait to see the next parts in future updates.
Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed your experience as much as you did!
I don’t know much about that level:(
I’m happy if you read this message:)
Thanks for the outpouring of praise, and support! Glad to hear you enjoyed so many aspects of the game!
RPG Maker MV doesn't natively support WASD controls but it's something we might look into in the future.
Otherwise, thanks again for the interest, and hope you can continue to enjoy what we will hopefully eventually put out!
--BUG REPORT--
v0.308 Linux: Ubuntu 20.04.6 Long Term System
That issue you're having is why it's called DON'T RUN.
Please use the "nw" file to play the game.
chmod +x nw
,chmod +x crashpad_handler
(or something like this, I don't remember the exact file name)and then
./nw
Thank you for your help. The problem is now fixed, I just didn't know how to run the nw file. I do advise including more instructions in the readme though.
I like this game So far would like to have a Walk through to find all the different amours and help with how much corruption you can take and so on for when I get stuck if possible Please and thanks.
how to remove the black underwear to go away from the forest???
There's a pink sigil / circle on the floor in the forest. Near the big green puddle. Walk over that circle and go through the area beyond.
Nevermind, i just realize i can avoid that one green slime
Love this game. So much so it inspired me to buy a copy of RPG maker to see if i can make a little project of my own.
I gotta ask though, how did you create the tree that can be knocked over to create a bridge? Was it via a plugin?
No it was done though eventing. The tree knockdown consists of 3 events that show the physical sprite of the upright log, with the bottom-most log being the event that can be interacted with. When activated, it’ll enable a switch that turns off all the upright tree sprites for that instance, removing it from view.
The second half consists of the 3 invisible ‘path’ events that are perpendicular to the upright events. These are activated when the aforementioned ‘tree down’ switch is turned on, and have their priorities set to ‘below the player’ so that it can override the deep water barrier.
